I perfer Halo over Half-Life. Let me remind you that I've played both. Halo (1, 2, and 3) and Half-Life (1, 2). For some reason when I was playing the original Half-Life, I would be nausea. I don't know why.
For Half-Life the main things were its storyline and the puzzles you had to solve. I remember I had to go back to many different stops in one level just to get passed that level. The story of Half-Life is also great. I think that's the most important aspect in the game, the story.
For Halo, I got Halo: Combat Evolved (Halo 1), back when it was first released on the old generation Xbox. It was really fun. There was no Xbox Live, but me and my first would have fun sitting together and playing. The story mode was also very great. I really fell in love with this game and went to read all the Halo novels. I also have a copy of Halo 2 and Halo 3 and I enjoy playing both of them.
In conclusion, both are really great games with a good storyline and great graphics. I prefer Halo over Half-Life more.

Halo because it's more fun. I've only played a little bit of Half-Life 1 though, and I've only played online mode on halo XD
I dont know about this one. Halo is probably one of the best series out there in my opinion and the newest one was just a work of art. But half life was one of the most original games out there and its engine also spawned the great counterstrike game. So how now i would say half life wins
