Does this intel wolfdale motherboard support P4 CPUs?

Guelila
Hello.
I am thinking on upgrading my current PC.
I am basically going to buy a new motherboard, new DDRII memories and a SATA HDD and just keep my current PSU (650 Watts), the case, and the Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz CPU.

I am currently thinking on buying this motherboard:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Wolfdale1333-D667.

in the description it says it suports dual core CPUs, but I'm not sure if it would support my current P4 CPU.
I would like to know if this board would support my P4 CPU, and if anyone has experience with this motherboard, I would like any suggestions or info on it Very Happy

Thanks,
Guelila.

You've probably done this, but I just want to confirm that the Pentium 4 you have is a LGA 775 CPU and not a Socket 478 CPU.

Also, if you notice on the menu on the left of the page you linked to, there is a CPU support list, which includes several 3Ghz P4 models, you may want to confirm that your specific model is on the list:

hmm
thanks for the heads up, but how do I check the socket of my CPU?
I have PC Wizard installed, I can't find any info on the socket in it.
Do I have to manually check the actual CPU with my eyes?

The easiest way would be to download a utility called CPU-Z. It will give you all the information you need on your CPU, socket included. You can download it here.
