Best time to view autumn in Japan?

shenyl
Anyone can advice if end sep to mid Oct is a good time to view the autumn splendor in Japan?

I only have leave during this period, but read about typhoons, heavy rainfall during the sep and oct period. I intent to visit the Kiso valley and Kamikuchi.

Can someone who has a deeper knowledge of the Japan weather please help to clarify?

I read that the best time to view autumn is Nov, but Kamikuchi is close from Nov to May.

And it is open from May to Oct. However, Sep has the highest level of rainfall and Oct is just slightly better. How come such contradiction?

Much appreciated for your help.

Hi there!!

I've been Japan last year from 1st till 14th of November.

travelled around Tokyo and weather wasn't too bad... no no it was good for walking around.
I had only one rainy day during this trip.

But... not many attractive events during that time such as MIZURI(?).

As you know Tokyo is the big city so If you really want to see and feel the Autumn of Japan, better go to other province like Kyoto and Mid october will be good time I guess

^^
