Well, I have made a MediaWiki Editor for Hire thread before, but seeming that the person hired did not do anything and the fact that I had lost all data before seems to put me in the position to make a new thread, as well as the fact that I have more to add.
If anyone wants to become a staff member of my site (CodeLyoko.us) for frih$, there are some limitations and rules.
1. You must have a very good sense of spelling and grammar, as I do not want any staff members to spel leik tis.
2. You must not be a new member here. (clarified: You must have registered before June, 2008, as I do not want any new members signing up)
3. You must be ACTIVE on my site. (you must log in at least once every 2 days at least, if you are offline for 2 weeks without prior notice, you are liable for demotion)
4. You must not attempt to hack the site. (duh)
5. You must not ask for a promotion in rank. (if I think you deserve one, I'll give it to you)
6. You must not ask for advertising space. (if you are a good staff member, I will offer it to you anyway; my site = PR3)
7. You must not harass any member. (once again, duh)
8. You must follow all of the rules and/or use common sense when on the site.
9. Use common sense, please consider anything else not listed that makes you seem illegible.
Here are some things you are not responsible for.
1. For select positions, you will not be required to know the phpBB3/MediaWiki/Coppermine systems. Though I would prefer you to understand phpBB3 most of all.
2. You will not be required to be familiar with Code Lyoko. Though I will tell you (if you mod general forums) what you will need to either move or delete if someone posts something Code Lyoko related in a forum which you cannot do so.
3. You will not be required to reply to some PM questions by users. (this means if someone asks you a question about Code Lyoko, weather, coding, etc. and you don't know, you do not have to answer, but you should clarify that you will not respond to certain questions in your signature)
4. You will not be required to worry about the site templates. (unless you are able to and I let you)
5. You will not be responsible for answering questions sent in by forms, as you won't get the emails anyway. As such, you should ignore any user PMs referring to the forms.
Here are the positions available.
Position (# of avail.) - Monthly Pay
Global Moderator (1) - ~40 frih$
Forum Moderator (4) - ~5 frih$ per forum
Wiki Contributor (3) - ~50 frih$
Graphic Designer (1-2) - 50 frih$
I will pay more if you are moderately to extremely familiar with Code Lyoko. If you say you are, I will make up a quiz you will have to answer (which are worded so you cannot look them up or it is extremely difficult to) and if you get a good score, you will get the appropriate pay increase.
I prefer you to not want payment, which usually would mean you would be more dedicated to your position, but I will give it as long as you are active if you choose to take it. Also, payment will increase if the forum gets more popular. (which means you may want to try to advertise
)
You will also be entitled to a free Lyoko.us email account (yourname@lyoko.us using Google Apps so it resembles Gmail).
---------------------------------
For Wiki Contributors:
You are required to know at least some basics of MediaWiki. You will be required to make basic templates like on Wikipedia and upload images to go with those templates. You will not be allowed to copy them directly from Wikipedia, but if the images are under a license where you can freely use them, you may use those. You may be paid per template. You can also create general pages.
Post your offers or questions here.
Thanks.
