Site Staff Members and MediaWiki Editors Wanted

Ratmaster
Well, I have made a MediaWiki Editor for Hire thread before, but seeming that the person hired did not do anything and the fact that I had lost all data before seems to put me in the position to make a new thread, as well as the fact that I have more to add.

If anyone wants to become a staff member of my site (CodeLyoko.us) for frih$, there are some limitations and rules.
1. You must have a very good sense of spelling and grammar, as I do not want any staff members to spel leik tis.
2. You must not be a new member here. (clarified: You must have registered before June, 2008, as I do not want any new members signing up)
3. You must be ACTIVE on my site. (you must log in at least once every 2 days at least, if you are offline for 2 weeks without prior notice, you are liable for demotion)
4. You must not attempt to hack the site. (duh)
5. You must not ask for a promotion in rank. (if I think you deserve one, I'll give it to you)
6. You must not ask for advertising space. (if you are a good staff member, I will offer it to you anyway; my site = PR3)
7. You must not harass any member. (once again, duh)
8. You must follow all of the rules and/or use common sense when on the site.
9. Use common sense, please consider anything else not listed that makes you seem illegible.

Here are some things you are not responsible for.
1. For select positions, you will not be required to know the phpBB3/MediaWiki/Coppermine systems. Though I would prefer you to understand phpBB3 most of all.
2. You will not be required to be familiar with Code Lyoko. Though I will tell you (if you mod general forums) what you will need to either move or delete if someone posts something Code Lyoko related in a forum which you cannot do so.
3. You will not be required to reply to some PM questions by users. (this means if someone asks you a question about Code Lyoko, weather, coding, etc. and you don't know, you do not have to answer, but you should clarify that you will not respond to certain questions in your signature)
4. You will not be required to worry about the site templates. (unless you are able to and I let you)
5. You will not be responsible for answering questions sent in by forms, as you won't get the emails anyway. As such, you should ignore any user PMs referring to the forms.

Here are the positions available.
Position (# of avail.) - Monthly Pay
Global Moderator (1) - ~40 frih$
Forum Moderator (4) - ~5 frih$ per forum
Wiki Contributor (3) - ~50 frih$
Graphic Designer (1-2) - 50 frih$

I will pay more if you are moderately to extremely familiar with Code Lyoko. If you say you are, I will make up a quiz you will have to answer (which are worded so you cannot look them up or it is extremely difficult to) and if you get a good score, you will get the appropriate pay increase.

I prefer you to not want payment, which usually would mean you would be more dedicated to your position, but I will give it as long as you are active if you choose to take it. Also, payment will increase if the forum gets more popular. (which means you may want to try to advertise Wink)

You will also be entitled to a free Lyoko.us email account (yourname@lyoko.us using Google Apps so it resembles Gmail).

---------------------------------
For Wiki Contributors:

You are required to know at least some basics of MediaWiki. You will be required to make basic templates like on Wikipedia and upload images to go with those templates. You will not be allowed to copy them directly from Wikipedia, but if the images are under a license where you can freely use them, you may use those. You may be paid per template. You can also create general pages.

Post your offers or questions here.

Thanks.

I am interested in this. I have several years experience as first a mod, and now admin on a forum that is still alive. And I've been both mod and admin on several other forums that are now dead.
I would prefer a moderator position, but I would be happy to assist you in any of the positions you have available.
However, I'd like to know the specifics on two positions, namely Wiki Contributor, and Graphic Designer. I can't guarantee that I would be able to be helpful in those positions, but I would like to know what those Graphic Designer entails, and what would be required of me.
I'd like a little more info on the Wiki Contributor, such as what exactly you mean by basic templates.
I have no experience in MediaWiki, but would be willing to learn.

Let me know!

Also, payment won't be needed for any moderator positions.

Hello.

First time i have taken a look at your site, and I too am interesting.

I do understand phpBB3 / phpBB2 / Coppermine ect.

I will allow you to select a roll for me if you choose to accept me. For now i would be mostly interested in the 'General' since of the forum like: General Topics, Computers and Internet and Media till i get a feel for the site.

Not sure what is involved with Global Admin, but i have a fair bit of spare time on my hands. I never close my IE to forums i participate on, so i regularly check up on them.

I meet all the listed requirements, Let me know what u you think i'd be suited for. If anything :p

Cheers.

Star Wars Fanatic -
Thanks for the great questions and submission.
For the Wiki Contributor, you would need to create the basic articles (such as guidelines and such). For templates, they are those little boxes that say stuff like "This article does not meet Wikipedia's standards" and stuff like that. This would be done by making a page starting with "Template:" in the link, and such.
Graphic designers will have to moderate the Coppermine gallery connected to the forum and help create images for the site.

Hammy -
You do seem to meet the requirements, and I could make you a Forum Moderator.

I will include more details tomorrow...

Okay then, I have no experience with MediaWiki, and very little in Coppermine, but I would be willing to learn.
I am open to any of of the other positions you have available.

I haven't got any experience with phpbb3/Mediawiki/Coppermine and my experience of your site is zero, but i am willing to learn and i am looking for experience moderating forums for when it comes to my own site.

I also have a lot of spare time on my hands now, and i am on the internet nearly everyday so i should be able to keep active.

I've been browsing eirlier.. and I've just registered.

Appears to be something wrong with your registration form .. when it goes to write to the datase is shows an error saying that the username field is empty...
I went to register again, and it said duplicate entry (therefor it did work first time)

Done anyways.
Logged as CtrlAltElite.

Good job on the site btw, liking the modifications you've done on it. Wink

Thanks for all of the submissions.

I have decided to not let anyone who has asked become a staff member yet, but I have decided to make you all staff members in training. You will still be paid, though I will teach you some of the basics of the site, and the other staff will help.

(also, I would like anyone currently registered to try the other theme available and tell me if you can read the text, but do not worry about the oddly shaped icons as I am going to fix them)

I would like anyone who has already registered to go to http://forums.codelyoko.us/wiki and log in with their usernames and passwords for the main forum, so that you are listed on the Wiki's list. You do not have to re-register on the Wiki. Also, please edit your userpage, as all users have it linked in their profiles.

Also, please note to anyone who is wanting (or has) to register in the free domain contest. There are limitations and the domain would have to be about Code Lyoko (as I started the contest to gain interest with people who want Code Lyoko websites but do not have resources) and you would not have the domain in your possession (I would have it in my possession with your info and you would be able to use any nameservers you want).

Yea, I can read the text, though the style isn't particularly pretty or anything...

I signed into the Wiki, and edited my userpage. Not sure what you want there, so I didn't do much.

Okay, that's helpful to know.

Can I see those mods? If you have good mods, you might be one of our coders for the forums. Very Happy

Also, training will start sometime between now and next Saturday, as next Friday I may have a LOT of time.

I might be interested in the Graphic Design position.

I have experience with managing forums, and websites.

I have also been designing for a couple of years now, around four.

That is great! At the moment, I really need a graphic designer, as my blue skin is really in disarray.

I will be able to pay you a 100-150 frih$ up front to redo the icons I give you. (if this is too low, please say so)

There not anything spectacular, pretty easy to create if you know PHP basics. Some PHPBB users enjoy them, that is the reason I keep developing them. I am also thinking about working on my own Modification Database. If I had an idea what you would need I could try and make it.

I would like to apply for a position as Forum Moderator. I have good spelling and grammar, and I have prior experience of moderating and administration. I would be online about once a day. I have no knowledge of Lyoko, although I can moderate a board well. I'll join with a name that will fit in there. Wink

Thanks, PM me. Smile

Thanks, but at the moment, I have enough people. If you have any intelligence in MediaWiki, PM me.

All users who can currently see the Staff boards, please post any questions you have about the site before any training starts. NO MORE FORUM MODERATORS/GMODS/ADMIN SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE. MediaWiki editor positions are available though, so PM me if you have intelligence in MediaWiki.
Ratmaster
I am still looking for MediaWiki staff!
