You Probably Don't Know What Your Religion Really IS!

handfleisch
You Probably Don't Know What Your Religion Really IS! This test will ask you about your beliefs and then tell you what religion you have the most in common with. For example, you might think you believe in the Jewish religion but your beliefs correspond to Buddhism! Or you might think you're an agnostic but you really are a Quaker! It also tells you what religion you have the LEAST in common with. Try it, it's fun at the very least. I thought I was Catholic but I turned out to be a PAGAN!

I'm Muslim and pretty religious so I'm glad #1 came out right. I've always known Judaism has closer beliefs to Islam than Christianity has to Islam, #2 didn't really surprise me, but Sikhism at #3 really did. Hinduism at #6 was also pretty unexpected, but I knew Nontheist would be really low ranked.

The rest was normal for me.

Well that's cool. My big surprise was that the religion I was brought up with (Catholic) came in last! I knew I had left the Church but not that much. And since I am interested in Hinduism I was surprised that it said I was a pagan (Neo-Pagan, no less).

Heheh, apparently I'm a secular humanist. Which is pretty accurate but pretty obvious because it's set apart so far from the religious categories.

Also, this is very American-centric. Some of the descriptions and categories don't mean quite the same in the UK. (A bit like the use of the word conservative or liberal in politics).

I don't see the point of this because your beliefs in behavior/nature of mankind doesn't necessarily have anything to do with religion. Judaism 45%? I don't share their beliefs necessarily; I just chose many of the pacifists and humanitarian choices.

Not very surprising results, as I am a pagan-ish pantheist. Something which the test actually agrees on.
I did find it a bit surprising finding most of the Christian/Middeleastan religions THAT far down. But I know in which questions I answerd "wrong", in that case. So maybe it was not such a big surprise after all.

I never knew there are so many religions out there Surprised
Officially I'm a catholic (Roman Catholic I think), but from the test it seems, that I'm some kind of a quaker. Apparently I play quake a lot and believe that all our problems can be solved with a rocket launcher...

Yes and "secular humanist" was something I thought the nutcase preachers came up with in the 1970s. Didn't know it was an actual "ism" you could sign up with. Lots of religions, so little time...

That pretty nicely sums it up, actually. Even though I consider myself an agnostic, I keep an open mind that there actually might be some higher diety somewhere out there. And I also dislike abrahamic religions.

It has made me want to look into the different sects of Buddhism, thats for sure. Though I think the multiple questions on rebirth are what made them so similar.
