FaceBook or mySpace
Title says it all
Personally l always hated them both but FaceBook as my attention due to it's not filled with soo much garbage that l experienced with mySpace.

Facebook is a lot more productive than MySpace in my opinion. I cannot see anything MySpace is useful for other than adding people, posting comments, and stalking people. Also there seem to be quite a few serious issues surrounding MySpace, ie. cyber bullying, girl committing suicide after being called ugly, etc.

i dislike most social networking. however, i did create an account for facebook for the ability to contact acquaintances i would normally forget existed. also i was really really really bored in the library.
Facebook - it's more professional and isn't filled with badly-made amateur animated gif garbage. It's always a plus when no one has died over it yet.
They both suck, but Facebook isn't as bad as MySpace. Though it's getting there with all those stupid "apps" people add to their page.
i agree. the facebook apps are starting to drag them in the direction myspace went. they were smart in keeping the layout simple. not allowing all these different color choices and customization. but these apps are getting annoying though. the best one is bumper sticker. send some funny stickers to your friends. but some like superwall and what not are annoying.

l HATE the movie trivia one
I have never liked myspace...I found the layout confusing and the general appeal is just not there for me. facebook however, is not as bad, its easier to use and I don't feel tooo overwhelmed.
As for the apps....I jsut ignore requests or remove them if theya re a waste of time. I have met and made some great business partnerships through facebook, so I guess its safe to say that I am a bit bais to it

I find myspace just so confusing, and it is also very slow for me. As Arseniy said, LiveJournal for the win.

Both divorce people from actual interaction, and force a constant 'keeping in touch' with people that you really don't know, and wouldn't be interested in keeping in touch with if you had to do it in person. A complete waste of time.

I also don't use either of them. When my friends wanted me to get MySpace I always declined. But now with facebook out I am starting to have second thoughts. Also MySpace, it seems, is starting to look alot like Facebook.

well i have account on both as it seems that facebook is much easier than myspace still i like myspace it is more extended and have many options beside u can edit your profile the way u like
I myself perfer FaceBook. However it's starting to get way to bloated like MySpace. I liked the original clean cut look and feel FaceBook had.
The only other good thing is that FaceBook is rarely ever down and you hardly ever get some error message like with MySpace stating something about server or other ;(

I will never open an account on myspace. The interface is the most annoying I've seen, specially on profiles where the background people choose doesn't have much contrast from the text. So as you are scrolling through people's profiles, can't tell what you are seeing.
I got a facebook account when the interface was a lot cleaner. I have a facebook account because that's how I stay in touch with many old friends. I agree though that it is getting really bloated. I still think it's better than myspace though.

I don't like either, but I'm going to have to say Facebook, because the account I made their due to friends proding me doesn't get nearly the amount of harassment from strangers that the one I made on Myspace due to a teacher requiring it does. XD
I don't actively use either. I only just recently started using facebook as a way to look up my new roommates and classmates at school when I only have their name and can't recall who they are. ^^;

Facebook without a doubt. I never even bothered filling out a profile on myspace, the layout was not very intuitive etc.. Facebook, aside from all those vampires, dopewar nonsense, is quite effective. Myspace in my opinion, seems to be more aimed at a younger crowd now, with all these wall paper options etc... I just want to use it to contact friends from long ago, and thats about it...
Myspace is utter junk. Every myspace page is a nightmare and looks like a page from the webs dark days. Pages are littered with silly scripts, loud background audio and irritiating colour combinations.
I think I prefer Facebook due to the fact that its a bit cleaner. But the one thing I do like about Myspace is the fact that you can edit your the layout of your profile, as in changing colors and such. So I combine my likes of the two and I use MyYearbook.

Yeah; I use facebook. I used to use myspace but facebook is so much cleaner and so far I haven't gotten messages from strangers like I do on facebook. and friendster.
Facebook, despite the annoying name, is much better than MySpace. It's cleaner-looking, seems to have more security, and for some reason nobody on MySpace knows how to make a decent-looking page. MySpace is just a mess overall, with big glittery pictures, spammy friend-invites, tons of advertising... it's just annoying. I'd like to see a little bit of color-customization on Facebook, but what they have now is still better than the pages on MySpace.

I use both regularly, but based on how much I use it, I prefer Facebook. I've found more people on Facebook from school etc...

Facebook is filled with garbage. Just not as much as myspace.
It was in it's prime when it was only open to select colleges.
Things started to go downhill when then they opened it up to High School students, then everyone.

I like Facebook better. Both are getting very dull now. Or maybe I'm just getting too old for that crap. Just seems like a waste of time to me now. I did enjoy learning html from myspace and designing crap. Other than that, I just message a handful of friends from both social networks.
From a purely safety perspective, Facebook is infinitely more secure than Myspace. MySpace is just swarming with spamming and jerk hackers, while the whole point of Facebook is to maintain connections with people you know personally. Myspace, in an ideal world, should be stripped down to just band pages. I only use it for that anyway.

i use myspace because you can still meet some cool people. personally i prefer the social network im working on, as its mine. don't ask me about it, im not very good at javascript so it won't be up for awhile.

I prefer Facebook. The userbase seems more mature, and the content is less racy.

Facebooks formality is its greatest strength. It is incredibly easy to navigate, the new privacy controls are excellent, and it's a very easy way to communicate with people all over the world. It even has a new IM feature, if you're so inclined. Love Facebook. I have a MySpace account, but I rarely check it and have not sought out any of my friends on it... they're all on Facebook.

Alot of my friends from old friends from highschool are only on myspace. But after joining facebook when I was in college, I like it way better. It just seems less clutered and clean.

I have a facebook account, but I see no utility in it besides finding old friends, asking them about their new life and then we lose touch again.
When we really want to keep in touch with people, we keep in touch with them. We don't need facebook for that.

My main issue with myspace is that it is home to absolutely horrid web design. Whether it be random boxes in completely misaligned locations, or flashy backgrounds that make you feel like you're about to have a seizure. Worse yet many of the pages you go to begin blaring music as loudly as possible that is, more often than not, exactly what you don't feel like hearing at the time. In general I find facebook to be more useful in keeping in touch with the people I know. However, I'll agree with an earlier poster that the apps are getting a little out of hand.
Never been on facebook, or created one. So for now I would have to say MYspace is better.. But, like I've said, never been on facebook before, so I really don't know.

Neither. I elect not to vote at all. I have both a Facebook and a MySpace account yet I do nothing with them and have yet to post or read anything of interest on either site.

Its privacy settings are way better, it's far more secure, and it's far less cluttered, especially now that the new layout means you don't have to put up with a billion applications loading when you open up a click-happy friend's page.

I vote neither. Both don't really care about your privacy and you are mistaken if you believe it is in their interest to care. The more they have on you the more money they can make off you.
I can't vote for either right now. Facebook has to turn back to the way it was pre-apps to make me come back. It used to be so fast, but now it's like a boat anchor. Slows the machine right down to a crawl (and before people make some smartass remark about get a better machine, it's only three months old).

I use both, However i have to say. Not too much friends are on Myspace. Most of them use other social network sites. As a musician myspace is a convienient channel. Or have to say WAS.

But MySpace is an awesome place for bands to set up pages and get heard.

I would prefer Facebook for sure. The design seems to be more organized and it is easy to find things around. They also keep the member's profile upto how they should be, compared to MySpace where there are lots of unnecessary glitters and objects put in by the user. Facebook FTW!
I prefer facebook too, it's kinda easier to use, and you can have lots of apps and games to share with your friends. It's my favorite social networking site.
Facebook is much better. It is very neatly organized, people's profile don't look like crap, it has 40 million+ users, it's apps feature is the best and it is just easier to use. I don't like the new layout, but it is still better than mySpace. If Facebook closed down, I would probably go insane. I am addicted to Facebook.

Yeah! Facebook FTW! At first I thought that Facebook is too boring, too "clean". At the end of the day, it soothe my eyes after browsing all of my friends site on mySpace. Too much of everything (but not all of them, some really keep it decent and nice, nicer than Facebook).

Both has their cons, really.
MySpace, while it recently updated the layout (Which has great improvements), still lacks the functionality of FaceBook.
FaceBook, on the other hand, still owns your photos and comments.
So I think both are quite bad to be fairly honest.

i'll join the boat and go with myspace. I would prefer myspace over any blog site because myspace is convenient to use in every way. Face book on the other hand is to complex for me.

1stly facebook is organized, has clean interface and is easy to learn within no time, while myspace looks more childlish unprofessional, and some peoples profile page is really annoying..

I uded to use myspace but it got to commercial and I started receiving a lot of junk mail and adverts which wasn't good at all, but now I use facebook which is so clean and cool (I like the blue layout very much
I Love Facebook Because You can Play and IM and View Pictures.. How better could it Get.. Specially if there are Friends and ur gf's / Bf's !

I prefer Facebook. It's million better than MySpace. It doesn't have ads, different annoying templates, cRaZy nAmEs, stolen celebrity names, and all the bad habits on MySpace.
I like Facebook simply because of the usability and friendly look, minimal design, networking types, applications and how it handles everything.
I have a profile on both, but rarely log on. The only time I log on is to accept a buddy or send a message to someone that I don't have any other contact info for. That is basically all they are to me is a way to keep in touch with people I don't have any other way to contact. If i were to choose one over the other I would have to go with Facebook. Though Myspace was first and has a lot of different features like the music and they layout of the profile, Facebook used to be a little bit more legit. I think Myspace has gotten corrupted with spamming users, fake IDs, and other weirdo internet people.
I personally prefer myspace (even though most people at my university use facebook). That's probably just because I got a myspace in 2004 and a facebook in 2008 (when I realized that everyone at college was using one) so I've had a lot more experience with myspace and how to use it...

My Space help alot of people with talents for they can achieve what they want out of life and what they do best...

When actual groups of people can set up their own pages instead of just individuals MySpace starts to become more of it's own private Internet than a social network. Which, in my opinion, depreciates it's use and value quite a bit.
Not to mention I hate the flashy backgrounds and obscene color schemes that people choose. I want to be able to read what someone writes, not be pigeon holed into highlighting every line I plan on reading just so I can actually make out the words through the jumbled flashing mess.
(From another perspective I'd point out that Facebook has much better codeing behind it.

I used to use myspace/facebook/yearbook, almost all of those social networking sites until I learned that (for an example) Facebook is ran by the CIA, and myspace is ran by the NSA. They wont tell you this but it is true. I guess the mechanism here, is their different approaches to the 'social-portal' thing... Myspace is as much promotion as it is keeping in touch with old friends. Fx. it's focused on having music on your page, and it's much more easy to get in touch with strangers. Facebook rarely makes your network significantly larger, but rather lets you work on the people you're already in touch with..
Facebook has started irritating me, I was not on it but one of my friend urged me to join it so I did the same however it appears very hodge podge kinda and I am really disappointed with it. I like orkut. And yeah why dont you people give chalbol a chance?, you all can win on it too!!, haha!
facebook! personally i dont use either of them but im fully addicted to the games on facebook like word challenge, bowling challenge and tetris! So i'd say facebook is better because its more interactive and fun. Games are always a good thing.

I think you need another option in the poll for "Neither". I used to have a myspace when I was younger and once I got older I never used it, not like I used it much when I did have it, and I decided that since its not really useful I would delete my account. I never even looked into facebook and I didnt even have an account with that site so I cant say anything about that. Ive always thought of facebook as being a lesser of myspace until lately when facebook seems to have updated there site with more options.
Although facebook is not as customizable as myspace, in terms of java, colors, etc. Facebook has a sense of organization to it because of this limited customization.
Old facebook was one of the most well organized social networks, along with just enough creativity through the rearrangement of boxes and your wall (where you post items) to personalize each person's page. However, the creators switched over to a different format, and New Facebook was introduced.
New facebook offers a clean, more advanced look, but again, in my opinion, does not have enough customization. Now that boxes, or the applications which gave Old Facebook so much creativity are not in control of the position of the user's wall, it seems like each page is virtually, the same. Of course this is not the case, as they are still personalized, but it just seems that a layer of creativity was lost when this change occured.

Of course this is not the case, as they are still personalized, but it just seems that a layer of creativity was lost when this change occured.

I have always refused to join an online community, but after high school that was the only way to get back in touch with some people. I joined facebook because it seemed less bloated and it just looked nicer. I hate those myspace pages where you practically can't see the text, where people put a bunch of images and random backgrounds. Eventhough facebook has changed, it still has a cleaner interface than myspace in my opinion.

Facebook. Each has its advantages over the other. Facebook, I find their applications superb, and MySpace is a good avenue if you're an artist to get some promotion. But my personal preference would be Facebook over MySpace.

I still prefer Facebook over Myspace. Facebook is just easier to navigat through, and so much more clean looking. Myspace is cluttered with junk. Though the apps on Facebook are quite annoying.
However I do think that Myspace is a very good marketing tool. Blogging with a lot of friends on your friend list can get you a lot of page views. Even commenting on like a musicians profile will get you some decent page view numbers.

Facebook. You can't customize it. Which is AWESOME.
I completely agree with the statement above. That was one thing that was TERRIBLE about Myspace. Visiting someones profile and they just have like 20+ videos on their page and it takes forever to load and is soooo slow.

Facebook will have my vote. Myspace more about musik and that is fine, but by facebook you will find more friends around the world

I say Myspace only because I am familiar with it. I haven't made me an account on FaceBook yet, but that will come (maybe) in the future. I personally don't like Myspace as much as I did before simply because it has turned into a spam site. I used to use it to message all of my friends and like everyone had one, but now, all I get is spammed comments and messages inviting me to this app, or that I have been pimped out by so-and-so. The user pages are another story. People fill them up to the brim with random html codes and don't have a clue what they are trashing their site with. It is in no way professional and I wouldn't use it myself for anything now but to get in contact with some of my die-hard friends. I think the last time I really changed my page was back in the beginning of 2008, excluding name changes and picture changes.
I used to love MySpace but now its filled with spam and promotions and shit I can't stand it, facebook is cleaner and easier to use... but in my opinion both after some time become boring!
I put facebook, simply for the fact that it's less clutered than myspace.
I prefer FaceBook because of the easy registration and you can play games, view images, add friends, add videos,... There are also good / alot of permissions that you can set which allows you to exactly determine who can view your profile on facebook and that's what I miss on MySpace.

You know, I easily would have said Facebook until the other day when my account got disabled by mistake. I've been emailing them for days trying to sort things out with them and haven't gotten any response whatsoever.

I voted for Facebook, but I really don't care. It's just that Facebook is the one I've been using lately because my friends have. Actually, I find that if I'm not careful, I can waste WAAAYYYY too much time on either site, updating my profile and seeking out old friends, etc. My new rules for myself are: I don't spend any time thinking of anything I can add to my profile, I don't seek out old friends, if I do find old friends on Facebook I don't give them a friend request, but I do confirm friend requests, and if people try to talk to me on it, I talk back. But I don't initiate anything personally. it works pretty well.
Why isn't there a none option? Silly.
None, I hate socialization websites like that. People agitate too much just to know alot of people even read their name, just to know some idiot copy pasted a comment on his ugly picture (mostly the authors say they were ''drunk'', just to avoid a flame), things like that.

I have both. I tend to use facebook more now because most of my friends and family have switched from myspace to faebook. I actually like myspace a bit more but as I said don`t use it as much. I used to love to build my site up for each holiday and add and chage up pictures. it was like an art palette to me. Facebook is a bit boring. I use it mostly to communicate and to share pictures. I wish we could design our own pages there too.

I'd say Facebook. Facebook and myspace are alike (they're both efficent methods of communication and socialisation) but at the same time, they're completely different. How can I possibly explain it? Facebook is bigger than myspace in terms of things to do with an account. However, if you want to promote your band and/or entrepeneurship, myspace is much better than facebook. All in all, Facebook is a more complex, to put it that way, than myspace. Just my opinion on the subject

I'm the same. I really could care less but its just wahtever mor of my friends are using.
I don't like either of them but I would have to go with FaceBook because it has more functions.

i use facebook because there are some pretty emotional people on myspace.. Also Facebook is a good network for collage users.. And im in collage!

Such olden golden thread still rocking, Its ages since I logged into facebook, and of Myspace I guess I have no account!
I don't like them all.
I used analog of MySpace for a short time to make a contact with long time ago lost friends. After short exchange by the news and happenings, nothing left to say. Deleted forever own space there, but after that had a lot of phishing emails and spam, consequentially had to close email accounts used then.
Even before joining I was expecting that soon will be sorry about that, feeling of obligation to socialize with a good people from the past won. Now am sorry as expected, we are still separate - nothing to talk about.
As was said before, who is interested in being in touch with old friends, is in touch, without needing ether Facebook or MySpace for that and being exposed to a complete strangers.
