Hi to everybody. I want to remove the dual boot between 2 operating system. The both are windows xp. I deleted the folder of the one i do not want to see anymore but the dual boot is still present at the start up of the machine. Please can somebody help me here? Thanks in advance.
Remove dual boot!!!
You need to clean your registry. No idea how... Ask professionals
But I think you need to do it manually or even format your hard disk.

All you need to do is:
Right click on My Computer and select Properties
Click on the Advanced tab
In the Startup and Recovery section click Settings
From the Startup and Recovery screen you should select the option you want to be default and adjust the other boot settings.
***!!!***You can screw up how your computer boots in this menu. Make sure you select the right option and test it before you limit/remove the 30 second delay etc. Message me or reply in this post if you have any question about this. ***!!!***

Thank you bigt.
I think you could also manually modify the boot menu by simply editing a text file c:\boot.ini or something similar

It helps me!
so, did you get everything the way you want it or have any problems?
In future, simply remove the folders of the unwanted windows (or better still quick format the partition which contains the unwanted windows), then pop in windows xp install boot disc and go to system recovery console. type fixmbr and then run fixboot and later bootcfg /rebuild

The matter is that the partition is located in the new main windows folder.
Open Start > Run > msconfig > boot.ini > select your operating system, and type in the timeout 3 seconds, you will wait now just 3 seconds

delete the option in boot.ini that's all that you need to do. nice and simple.
In case you have a different OS (like Linux) and the dual boot is made through that OS and it's boot sequence is in MBR Window's boot.ini is useless. So if you want to remove it all try this: http://dban.sourceforge.net/ It takes a while, but this OS cleans your hard drive like no other
