The server status script that Daniel15 wrote comes in real handy. But I've noticed that even when everything is green (running ok) the system may still bog down.
It would be nice if a system load figure could also be given. That way if we don't really have to be on the system at the time, we can simply check the load and come back later if it's heavy.
