Mystery of the right feet

This is quite a mystery. A fourth right foot was found in less than a year on the Canadian coast. The owners were not identified yet.

Beside being only right feet, all four were wearing socks and were in a running shoe.

I would guess some serial killer has found an interesting way to leave a calling card...
Not a bad way to do so really, very memorable and very hard to trace back to him.

Wow thats rather disturbing. I'd definitely say it is a serial killer. That kind of coincidence is just too coincidental.

The mystery of the feet is still unsolved.

Another two feet were found this week: the first Monday and the latter Wednesday.
The number of feet is now 6.
The fifth foot found is the only left foot, the rest are right feet.

Canadian authorities still don't have a clue as no other remains were ever found.
There is only speculation that they belonged to victims of violent crimes or a plane crash.
Some have suggested that the feet didn't sink but floated to shore because they were encased in buoyant running shoes.

yeah i just read that on the local newspapers but can't remember how many feet have been washed ashore. Probably the job of some psycopath or serial killer? We'll just have to wait and see what has been discovered.

The feet probably just came loose from long dead bodies and have been washed down the waterways. They probably just preserved better in the shoe.

Well, with six feet to work with, the forensics people working on the case should be able to get a rough idea of the amount of time each foot has been in the water. Then they can backtrack the prevailing currents at the time each foot washed ashore and get a rough area of where the foot may have entered the water. That should give them six circles on a map that would hopefully overlap or cluster and give them a spot to start searching for clues.

I wonder if the one left foot is a match to any of the right feet? Have they determined how the feet were detached from the rest of the body? (cut or torn? and if cut, with what sort of tool?) Are they male or female feet?

I hope, after they solve this one, that they make a Forensic Files type show about how. It sounds like a fascinating mystery.
Would make for a great horror movie, or CSI episode.

Kind of scary, though. The simplest explanation is that there is a serial killer on the prowl up there. I wonder if there has been any pattern of disappearances that would correspond to the case, but I'm sure if six joggers or hikers had gone missing in the right time-frame the press would have caught on.

The article also states that four of the feet have been from men, and one from a woman, and it rules out the 2005 plane crash in the Georgia Strait that was one of the theories for the origin of the feet.

From what I heard, they think that the feet are detaching from people who are already dead, and underwater. There was a plane crash and ferry crash that might account for the feet. No one has walked into a hospital missing their feet yet, so who knows o_O
