I've finally managed to get my wireless connection working with Ubuntu 8.04, but it's REALLY slow. I have an HP Pavilion laptop. Anybody know what's wrong?
Same problem on a dell 1420 Inspiron laptop.

I was tranferring files between this and a Windows Vista computer running on Dell 1520 Laptop
I didn't update any drivers or settings, just used the default that came when i installed Kubuntu.
Updating drivers might work, but i know from experience with another linux (opensuse) that finding drivers for wireless is very hard, so u should probably have to find out which chip your wireless card is using, and download the drivers for that. Most of times its a ralink
