Creative works are always copyrighted even if they are unregistered. Registration just makes said claim easier to enforce.

When it's all said and done it's a question of enforcement and playing it smart.

Given the low level of reach that I currently have I'm not planning to shoot my work into uncharted territory. Rather keep it on a collaborative, local level.
