I was trying to figure out things about WEP security and stumbled upon ways to crack it. So was trying it on my network with tools like Kismet and airodump (of airocrack package) on my system.
I have Fedora 8 and my wireless card is ipw3945.
kismet and airodump run fine, they show the access points in vicinity but not the clients associated with it.
Kismet shows number of clients to be zero , when i knew that two clients were associated with my access point.
Airodump does not show any STATIONS (clients) in that section, but shows the APs with there MAC adresses.
Another trouble with airodump was that it showed the PWR(power) to be zero on all APs.
I have read that ipw3945 is supported for these softwares.
I cannot go ahead with my experiment unless i get the target client information to do a ARP replay attack to get enough IVs to crack my own WEP Key.
Can anyone help me with this.
