Google Friend Connect

the-guide
I've found it very interesting and may be you are interested... It's "Google Friend Connect", see how Google explains their new service ...

"Google Friend Connect lets you grow traffic by easily adding social features to your website. With just a few snippets of code, you get more people engaging more deeply with your site."

"Websites that are not social networks may still want to be social. But the barriers to offering social applications on the site have been considerable. Google Friend Connect changes this by enabling any site to offer dozens of social gadgets created by Google and OpenSocial developers to their visitors. This means more visitors spending more time on a more engaging website — with absolutely no programming required to make it happen."

You can read here for more information.

Please note: this "Google Friend Connect" is a beta preview release.

Hope this useful.

That's what I think like you as well, Arseniy.

The question is... "How you want to use Google?"

Once I've posted in the thread "Google Reader Become Social Networking?" expressed that Google try to alter "Google Reader" into a "Social Networking Tool", you can read it from this thread...

http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-92405.html

"Visitors to any site using Google Friend Connect will be able to see, invite, and interact with new friends, or, using secure authorization APIs, with existing friends from social sites on the web, including Facebook, Google Talk, hi5, orkut, Plaxo, and more." that's what Google announces Friend Connect!

Do you think Google tries to do something to be more Social Networking?

"Google Friend Connect" is another service that Google tries to do to be more Social Networking.

And again, the question is...

"How you want to use Google?"

and...

"Do Google's users really want that new social networking feature which Google tries to do?"

Not only Google whose tried to become more Social Networking I've found and read an article on Mashable Social Network News expressed that Microsoft also coming Into Social Bookmarking too, Microsoft Jumping Into Social Bookmarking. The company is set to release a product called “Social Bookmarks” this week.

"The product sounds a whole lot like del.icio.us, and will initially be deployed on MSDN and TechNet, so look for it to be mostly hardcore techie bookmarks for now. Features include bookmarking (presumably via a bookmarklet), tagging, and a web-based account where your bookmarks are stored."

But I think nothing new for us! Do you?

Social networking and Social Bookmarking now seem so smell sweet and honeyed!!! Wink

However, do you think Google and Microsoft coming too late in this arena? What took them so long?
