Everyone is making a big issue of global warming, it seems, when we have a large problem with global dimming as well.

Global dimming actually causes the earth to cool. If anything global dimming masked global warming. The earth has been "brightening" since about 1990.

Global dimming nor warming are positive occurrences based on our present understanding. Global dimming has been considered responsible for millions (possibly billions in the near future in Asia) of deaths already and is going to continue to cause huge respiratory and famine problems around the world. They're still both caused by use of fossil fuels and both are having negative effects on the planet/humans. Both problems must be addressed equally.

Global dimming may only be considered "negative" (IMHO) when it is caused by humans, and therefore ironically considered "unnatural." However one major volcanic eruption can cause more global dimming than all human activity combined.
