Well i created my subdoamin http://babumuchhala.teenhungama.frihost.net and goes perfectly to http://teenhungama.frihost.net/babumuchhala/ as i configured it.
But is it possible to make the subdomain like the one given out in hosting, i.e. http://babumuchhala.teenhungama.frihost.net can have its own index.htm page.
I wanted to make my blog there. Thats why
*scratches head*
uhm, can you be a bit more clear? i dont quite get what your trying to do...
your asking for an index file inside your babumuchhala subdomain?
do you mean is it possible to make a subdomain like babumuchhala.frihost.net ??? that is possible, but that would be another account.... /shrug.... youd have to ask bondings bout that one, i dont know how to do that if you can through cpanel.. maybe theres some way to ask bondings for the second subdomain and then you set it there on your account or something.. /shrug...

I want a true subdomain & not a redirecting subdomain
I think this should make things clear
When you make a subdomain , a directory is automatically set up. like http://teenhungama.frihost.net/babumuchhala/ must have a created a sub directory teenhungama, you can see it in your public_html folder. you gotta upload the html file in that sub directory for that subdomain. is that what you wanted to know?
Only reason the subdomain may not work is it can take nearly 24 hours to resolve.
Your subdomain seems to be working fine without a redirect, so I suppose that your problem is solved.
hmm... no what i think he wants is a real subdomain.. like a second one...
all subdomains are redirections... every last one... they are their just to make a url easier on a person to remeber...
your subdomain with frihost is actually a redirection to a folder on the server that the name server remebers....
is that what you were wondering?
I'll give a nice example.
My frihost subdomain : forums.frihost.net
.
I create a subdomain called blog.forums.frihost.net
.
In my cpanel's file manager, there is this folder in it called public_html. In public_html, I can find a folder called blog. Thats where all the subdomain files go
.
Now i am really confused.
Frihost Gave me domain: teenhungama.frihost.net
This mean all the details are stored in public_html folder of frihost.net
So the same way if i need to do any cahnges to my subdoain i must do it in the public_html folder right
if i get what your saying...
http://babumuchhala.teenhungama.frihost.net is your subdomain that you have on your site
theres nothing special about that besides its an easier to remeber location for some people... its the EXACT same thing as teenhungama.frihost.net/babumuchhala/ if that is indeed the file your subdomain points to...
edit whatever files withen that folder to change the subdomain.. example:
im ylurself.frihost.net (well, we also are ylurself.com)
now lets say, instead of making the users go to my site, then click the forums link, i want them to be able to just type forums.ylurself.frihost.com (or forums.ylurself.com) now i just set the redirection to the url of the forums withen phpnuke (something like http://www.ylurself.com/modules.php?name=Forums, which is actually in my directory public_html/modules/Forums/ because php wont allow you to do through normal files, and you must instead go through the modules file with the variable passed of what module you want to load)
is that what your asking? if editing the files withen your public_html folder edit the subdomain, answer is yes, they do, if you edit any of the files withen the folder that your subdomain points to
Your root folder for your subdomain will be located as a directory in your public_html directory.
public_html/subdomain/<put-your-files-here>
