Need help - downloading video

karysky
Hello everyone,

I'm not really good at downloading streaming media, but I'd be really, really grateful it if someone could tell me how to download this video:

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=DF6A41917D665922733901F166A39FA0?contentId=6519810&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1

Or download it for me and send it to me!

Huge thanks!

You can try recording it with a screen recorder application..
or easiest of all - record it with a video camera.

If you have real player,a link appears above the video to download it.

or also you can use Orbit, which is a download accelerator, it will have a link as well if you hover over the video.

Or... you could just watch the video first then go to your browser's (Firefox in this example) cache and it'll be stored there as a file. All you need to do is copy it and rename to whatever-you-want-to-call-it.flv and then use FLV Player to watch it. The default cache folder is at C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\random-numbers.default\Cache

Most likely the file will be at least 1+ MB and you can easily check the date created/modified to find the video file.

The best way I have found is to use firefox and clear the cache. Then visit the site, and type "about:cache" (no quotes) into the bar. The file will be the biggest one.

If you use firefox, you have lots of video downloader add-ons.

Youtube downloader
VideoDownload helper
GetVid

and so on ...

Take Tools > Addons
Get extensions

Look for the video downl;oaders

For playing the videos (which are flv format)
you will need to use Video LAN (VLC player)
or Mplayer or SMplayer or KMplayer or GOM player.

Cool Works for all videos on Youtube, Google Videos, Metacafe ,... anywhere actually. Point and click,
