YouTube India goes Live

Google has launched the localized version of YouTube for India at in.youtube.com. YouTube has partnered with several content creators like Zoom Channel, NDTV, UTV, Rajshri Group, Indiaglitz and Music Today to distribute them on YouTube India.

YouTube India will feature the same video content as YouTube’s main site, but popularity charts are based on the videos that are being watched in India. As IndiaTimes reports, Google had acquired YouTube.in and YouTube.co.in (both of which redirect to in.youtube.com) for approximately 2.44 lakhs late last year. Most of the partnership deals were signed around the same time, so we knew it was coming!

Hi have had a look.
still a lot of content to be added I think.
But a good initiative, even though i think this could have been integrated in the main youtube site.

Hey this is a good initative.. You Tube is really a big resource of info which can be learnt ..
But I do hope that this content gallery dont get polluted with all those adult stuff...

Hope You tube has taken some serious efforts for this looking india in consideration..

Will post few videos in few days from now...

you tube india would not mean everything separate for india.
Only difference would be the searches will be in Indian contexts and the visibility of Indian Videos will be more

Lots of useless videos on the top page
the site needs lots of uploads from users which will not be possible as there is low penetration of video cams and high end mobiles but it will catch up soon.
