No microphone input Realtek AC97

TomGrey
I've two different headsets which work, but on my newer PC, the mic doesn't work.

I've looked in the sounds, and seen the test where you read. I read, but it's like the mic isn't even connected. The headphones work on the other connection.

Realtek AC97 is the audio card which came with the box.

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you've connected the mic to the correct port (usually pink), it might be because you don't have a driver for the sound card.

If you mean to say your sound works fine but not the mic, I saw that happening once and the problem was in configuration. Go to the sound configuration utility (from control panel or or from the tray) and make sure "front mic" is not selected.
