Log in system

I'm almost finished with my php news script. But the problem is, I need a log in system for my admin cp. I couldn't find a good http authentication script, and a few others I found only keep me logged in for one page on the admin cp.

Is there a simple and flat file log in script, that will keep me logged in for a while?

you could use php sessions. I made a post with some code for that not too long ago, I'll try to find it.
