How to read through your bible in 9 weeks

Every wondered how to read through your bible in 9 weeks?

There are many different methods and I personally ready through my bible once a year in around 9 weeks!

So let’s look at reading through your bible in one year? There are 1,187 Chapters in the bible (39 Books / 927 Chapters, in the Old Testament and 27 Books / 260 Chanters, in the New Testament), so you will need to read 18.60 chapters a day.

The best method would be to keep a bible with you and at every occasion you can read your bible, like reading while you on the toilet, while waiting for the train / bus, while waiting in a queue and each morning and evening. Try to read three chapters at a time so you will need 6 reading sessions in a day, if you get more chance to read then add these times.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO SPEED READ!!! You can read your normal speed with understanding. It will amaze you what you will find out. I am amazed every time I read through my bible God unlocks new secrets. Remember the object is to UNDERSTAND what you read, anyone can page through he bible, even someone who cannot read. Read everything even the names and ask yourself questions as you read.

I also suggest that you read ahead when you can because some chapters are long like Psalm 119 and some are really short like Psalm 120, so I would suggest if you chapter are less than 33 verses then read an extra chapter, this way you can miss a day here and there and still be on course.

God bless and enjoy reading His love story to you!!!

Or alternatively you could spend a week each on the following highly recommended science books :

Richard Dawkins The Blind Watchmaker : The God Delusion : The Selfish Gene

Brian Greene The Elegant Universe : The Fabric of the Cosmos

James Gleick Chaos

Carl Sagan The Demon Haunted World

Martin Rees Just Six Numbers

and for a chuckle to round it off..
Richard Feynman Surely You are Joking, Mr Feynman

Why would you want to read the Bible as fast as you can? Isn't the point to understand what is written in it? Not, "I read the Bible in 9 weeks, yay me!"

I read an eTranslation of the Quran and, being perfectly fluent in English (the translation is in English) it took me about eight months to fully read and understand it. The original Arabic version (yes the version that we believe is directly from God) took me about two and a half years because A. I am not that good at reading Arabic and B. I don't understand Arabic nor can I speak it.

I don't see the point in getting your holy book (whatever it is, Quran, Bible, Tankah, etc.) and trying to zoom through it. Harry Potter? Yes, I've done that with the 7th book (took me eight hours), but Quran? No; so I don't see why you would want to zoom through the Bible.
