HOW TO READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

xtupie
Every wondered how to read through your bible in one year? There are many different methods and I personally ready through my bible once a year but it takes my about 2 months to read through with out any form of speed reading. I will post a topic on "How to read through your bible in 9 weeks", later!

So let’s look at reading through your bible in one year? There are 1,187 Chapters in the bible (39 Books / 927 Chapters, in the Old Testament and 27 Books / 260 Chanters, in the New Testament), so you will need to read 3.25 chapters a day. The best method would be to read three chapters a day, Monday to Saturday and five chapters on Sundays and you would get through you bible no problem.

I also suggest that you read ahead when you can because some chapters are long like Psalm 119 and some are really short like Psalm 120, so I would suggest if you chapter are less than 33 verses then read an extra chapter, this way you can miss a day here and there and still be on course.

God bless and enjoy reading His love story to you!!!

There are also a number of websites that can help with this. I love Biblegateway.com.

I'm currently on a Bible-in-a-year plan going straight through...it's been difficult but very interesting!

So, have you started going through it?

I don't get why someone would try and read it as fast as they can. Surely the point of the Bible is to enjoy its words and to connect spiritually with them (whether you're christian or not).
If you just read it as fast as you can, then you won't get much out of it, surely...

The same thing in Islam with the Qur'an. It's not how much you read, but how much time you spend reading.

Peace.

^Agreed. I read the Quran in four sessions a week, reading only four pages at a time (in Arabic).

I also gotto say if you read through the bible that fast, you shouldn't read at all you will learn nothing, it's like watching a movie in fast forward.

I'm originally from Pakistan, lived part of my life in Canada, and some in Saudi Arabia. I don't know Arabic, but I can read it Smile

I also happen to be fourteen years old so sometimes finding time to read it can get a little difficult. Confused
