Global Warming - The biggest threay to world and Human Race

I suppose all of us is quite aware of Global warming... according to wikypedia "Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century and its projected continuation.

The average global air temperature near the Earth's surface increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the hundred years ending in 2005.[1] The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gas concentrations"[1] via the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.[2][3]"

Hence I am very much interested to know from our members across the word, about ehat precautionary measurements is being taken by their Country Governments... and their thought in this matter.... Please share your views...

Really, I think we're likely to end the problem before it is dangerous in any way without changing the patterns currently existing.

For example, since the 1970's, the average MPG for cars has gone from 15 to 30 or so. Especially with all the global warming hype, industries are tending towards becoming cleaner.

Widespread industrialization of the third world could cause problems, though. But, as I keep saying, we have bigger and more urgent problems than global warming.

What is bigger or more important than a problem that could destroy the entire world as we know it? The average yearly temperature may only rise one degree or so, but that one degree could obliterate an entire species of plants or animals. The survival of other organisms that rely on this species would be devastated as well. Because our world is comprised of intricate food webs, what affects one species affects many others.

We cannot be certain of the lack of negative consequences of our actions. Back in the beginning of industrialization, human beings didn't know that the results of their inventions and innovations would cause so much pollution. We cannot be certain that what we do today will not hurt our environment. Negative effects often do not become obvious until years, even decades later.

We must be diligent in preserving our environment. Global warming is nothing to be lax about.

--thats the 'Am-way' of expression.. probably he will solve the problem of Global warming by throwing Nuclear Bomb on developing countries of third world !!!! claps.... Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

^I don't know where you got the nuke idea... I was just meaning that the huge populations of third world countries will soon be developing to the point where they will begin making serious per-person pollution, which within a decade or two could begin causing far more pollution than the developed world does. Hopefully, clean technologies could be supplied to these developing populations, rather than having them dependent upon dirtier, older, cheaper technology.
