InnoDB

jordi
Hi all,

Maybe this is a good idea. Add InnoDB to the MySQL database.
Now you can only choose for:

  • MyISAM (standard)
  • MERGE
  • HEAP
  • MEMORY
  • ISAM

Why ?
Because you can't use things like foreign keys and some other keys.

I hope that this was a good idea Razz

problem is that InnoDB increases the load on the servers even more. And because the load already is high, I don't think it's a good idea to add new stuff.

Agree with rvec.

Also the server send performance is already poor enough that the slight extra performance being allowed to use foreign keys (and the therefore reduced number of SQL calls) would be quite minimal.

Your suggestion makes a lot of sense though - perhaps in 6 months when everything runs a lot better it will be implemented Smile
