CMS for Band Website

subhramani
hey people,

I've been trying to hunt for a good CMS to make my band website.
The best I've found till now is jamroom, there's absolutely no support for it now i guess cos the whole forum is spammed with porn.

Anything which you guys can suggest?

thanks in advance.

I should probably start advertising mine. I am attempting to create a easy using CMS that average users can use and you don't need much knowledge except for creating a database which I will have instructions on which to do for that. The CMS I am attempting to create is called SmartCMS. It will come pre-installed with a user system fully coded with Private Messaging, Friends, Member Lists, Shop (able to disable, and things can be bought with "points" or real money). Will also have the ability to have the built-in forums, or to host your own and theme it yourself.

I am thinking of making multiple themes for this, just basic colours and stuff like that as it's just one template file and can only be changed (so far) by changing the functions.php. If people use it, and want to make their own template than it's possible, just include the PHP for the user system and such.

Of course, this will be 100% free of charge as I do this for fun, not for the money. This project has just started and I have a while to go. So far I have the template half done, the user system functional (just cannot register until I put a link) and private messaging on it's way as well.

If you, or anybody else, needs any more information feel free to private message me, email me, or reply here.

Thanks, and kind regards.

Wordpress is pretty easy to install and use, it's free, and there's tons of support available. You might want to try that out. If you don't want a blog site, you can still have all the static pages you want, and a blog page for news, updates, show schedules etc.

Wordpress is easy to install & handle, support is available. Mainly, it's a CMS for Beginners and for people who dont need a professional site.

Same with Joomla! - This is the most utilised CMS in the world. Tonns of Add-Ons,Plug-Ins and Templates (I've tried 200 templates). But Joomla has more options to create your site, more settings.
