Well, I certianly hope all of you are going to host legal MP3s.
The site would be best for the small time bands that want to get there songs listened to. You must watch out for the illegal mp3's if you do host them on there because RIAA gets wind of your site, if it gets big time you may be in some big trouble buddy.

Good news, although 1 MP3 only can host 1 week , but i still will use to host some MP3 file.
Just to mention that linking to an illegal mp3-file is also forbidden on Frihost.
upload as many mp3s as you like (obeying requisite laws is your responsibility and I'm not endorsing the contrary. aren't disclaimers fun?)

Here is another great service for hosting files of ANY type: www.megaupload.com
You pay ONLY if you upload files bigger then 250Mb, which is much more than a single mp3. There is also no limitation on number of downloads.

AFAIK If and ONLY if you waste money on "free" file hosting. Stick with chunking RARs < 250 megs

can i host my own mp3s on frihost? i know in the TOS that it says not to provide warez and illegal stuff, but i want to host my own music. is that okay? ... not that ive got a site yet, but that's one of the things id like to do.

I think Bondings may entertain requests for hosting your own MP3s... Make a request in the Hosting Requests forum... and maybe Bondings will accept...
All the uploading sites have time limits. there are some compositions submission sites tht last foreer though. You have to have a profile with them and its meant to be meant for downloading only from their site. But you can get hotlink to the MP3 file you uploaded.

there are many sites who are giving mp3 uploads.
Even you can upload upto 500 MB per day.

Does mp3.com allow users to still manage their own pages? they used to have a whole thing about artists creating their own web presence - they could upload songs and everything.

At $5 a month I could get myself a good webhosting with around 300mb space, and 3gb bandwidth. That means 60 songs more or less. Plus I could add more pictures.
And I wouldn't worry about the 1 song per week upload restriction.

Well.. Dont waste too much time uploading mp3 files to an mp3 host. ocne he get alot of mp3s. He will definitely shutdown the whole place.
why everyone wants to uploas mp3...you can use other formats...for the music...: )

Most of the big ones keep files "forever" as long as the file continues to have at least one hit every 30 days.
And of course they don't allow hotlinking. How would the average joe be exposed to their adds if they allowed hotlinking?

Yes, apparently it is... I've checked up on the site, and it lets you download commercial MP3s.
Members, please note, posting links to sites that let you download MP3s for free illegally is not allowed on Frihost.
If repeated, this could result in banning of the member.
