Google Maps

welshsteve
Hi everyone. I'm not that good with javascript, mainly just trawling the net for something when I need it.

Anyhow, I am responsible for a website at work, and we'd like a map of the world on there with "hot spots" or locations specified with addresses (for our various offices around the world).

I have signe dup for a Google Maps API, but have no idea on how to go about using it.

Does anybody have a an example of a google map with specified addresses that I could customize?

The easiest way to go about this would be to use a JavaScript framework called jQuery. To use it just go to its homepage, download it, extract the file jquery.js or something like that and include it in your site.
Now download a plugin for jQuery called jMaps, at this URL you'll find all documentation needed:
http://www.dyve.net/jquery/?googlemaps

Just go to that site, download the plugin and read the tutorials to learn how to use it.

Ask any problem that you find Wink
