Ok guys, let me give you the 411.

I know HTML moderately well. I also have a program editor that will allow me to do some stuff that I do not know.

I know a little php....

I would like to redo the chatpage to my website. (right now it is so jimmy rigged its garbage...)

What I would like to do is add a few features...

First, I would like to add a sign in page so you can type in your username and password once and you are set to go.. I would also like to be able to link nicknames to the users.

So I think I need a database with 3 fields. Username Password Nickname.

I know NOTHING about databases.

I think if I could figure out how to do these simple things, I could figure out the rest by myself...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

with enough examples.

If you want to really learn it you should use php.net as a guide. Everything is in there with examples and good explanations.
