Homemade Pizza!

Helios
Hello dear pizza lovers.
Want to make a damn good pizza but also waste about 5 bucks?

Well i just made that few minutes ago and I must say that it was quite good.

I wanted a pizza today so I've constructed this recipe for the public.
(and also for me.. i might forget the process so i can look at the recipe ><)

Anyway, here you go!
Sorry for my bad arse English =P

ingredients:

for the dough
1/2 glass of water.
yeast
2 glasses of flour
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 spoon of salt

for the sauce:
1 nice tomato
garlic or onion.. do what you wish but i use only garlic
2 spoons of quality olive oil(the "cold squashed" oil is the best)
pepper and salt
paprika

let's start!

First we will make the dough.
Take the 1/2 glass of water and spill it inside a nice bowl.
Throw in the yeast and the 1/2 teaspoons of sugar and wait for about 15 minutes(mix every few minutes).
After the yeast has melted you should get a nice pale brown coloured liquid(it has to be a liquid, if it isn't - add more water until it will become a liquid).
Now, put the flour and the salt inside and start to knead nice and slow.
The more you knead the better it will be.
Now, leave the dough for about an hour so it will double it's size
-- at this point you start to make the sauce --

then take it and start to knead again(we want it to come out thin! like the italian pizza =D).
After you've done give it like half an hour to rest again.
Now take a piece of it, put some flour and put the dough on the flour.
Spill some flour onto the dough, now you just flatten it so it will be nice and thin(not too thin!).

Sauce!!!
And a cold one to.. no need to cook =D

Take the tomato and get the liqud and seeds out of it.
Then throw it into the food processor or use a simple grater to grind it well.
Now put in the paprika, pepper, salt, garlic(squashed) and the olive oil.
For now, put it away in the open air to let it dry a little bit.

-- get back to the dough --

Preparing the oven!
Turn it on and let it get heat at about 250 degess celcious for 5 minutes.
Now spill some olive oil on the plate and leave it.

Constructing the pizza!
Stretch the dough on the plate so it will fir in but also leave the edges.
Now spread the sauce, the ground cheese and some olives if you wish and roll the edges that you left earlier down.
Cook the pizza at 180 degrees celsious until you will see that it's ready.
Usualy the cheeshe will bubble and the edges of the dough(the you've rolled down) will be slightly brown.
Let it cool down for 15-10 minutes and then server with beer or coca cola.

Enjoy!
It's both good and cheap!

I saw 180 degrees and was wondering how the pizza could even cook. My confused culture still uses Fahrenheit. So for the rest of you with the same backwards culture as mine, 180 degrees celsius is about 350 degrees fahrenheit.
cavalkaf
Eh, might try it eventually Wink
silentpark
well im happy with my 'frozen' pizza and my microwave with 'pizza-function-key' Wink

but.. maybe if im bored Twisted Evil

maybe we schould ad a forum for food... or so... i'll post how to warm up food with the *microwave* Laughing

A couple of times you just said spoon, could you say if its tea spoon or table. And what size glass should I use the tall narrowish ones? Like this Or a short one like this?
Traveller
Having cooked at a Wolfgang Puck's Café, the pizzas I make are not inexpensive. For my own, personal "garbage pizza" (with all the toppings made entirely from scratch), things go on in this order:
  • Sun-dried-tomato pesto sauce
  • Shredded Mozzarella and Montina cheeses
  • Roasted red and green bell peppers
  • Caramelised onions
  • Sautéed portabella, shiitake, and regular mushrooms
  • Diced, cooked ham
  • A moderate amount of grated smoked Gouda cheese
  • Crumbled goat cheese

Also, there is my own invention: the "Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Pizza":
  • The gooey part of homemade turkey stuffing without the croutons (this is essentially the "sauce" base)
  • Sliced or pulled cooked turkey
  • Gravy (not too much - especially if it's cold from the refrigerator, since it will expand and run as it heats up)
  • A moderate amount of grated smoked Gouda cheese (note that there is no Mozzarella in this one - just the Gouda on top)
  • After cooking, garnish each slice of pizza with a slice of canned cranberry sauce (e.g. Ocean Spray)

Make something that helios gives you the directions for... Hmm thats a bit risky. But you did get me really hungry for pizza. But i will have to try it sometime but just make my sister tast the first bite...
Marston
Pizza is not a waste of 5 dollars! Wink I like to think of it as a delicious investment.
Blaster
Pizza for 5 bucks isn't that bad at all. Around here it goes for like 20 bucks. But don't worry i had my pizza today.

Anyone ever try Joe Corbies? Its a pizza that you make pretty much.
Helios
Damn this topic is old.
I wasn't even a mod when I wrote this recipe.

What's weird though: I just ate this pizza today! Razz

-moved to tutorials-

Btw, my English then was quite more horrible than it is now Razz
I won't rewrite the whole recipe, so just use your common sense Razz

lol, it's cool that you shared a tutorial on how to make Pizza! That's original! Never seen that before! I love pizza, it's so goood! Hah! Though I'd probally not make my own, as I think mine would taste crap! Very Happy

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm PIZZA! Good basic recipe, these kinds of recipe are usually the best.

I like the way you give a rough estimate of ingrediants and put them into an understandable form, cooking is not a science experiment - you don't always have to be exact in your measurments.

I'm sure the pizza will be goooooooood. Smile

Lol, good Tutorial Very Happy
