For me - to many colors ... I don't feel it ... even don't like it ... dunno why ... just dont ... but maybe someone will be charmed with such layout and will stay on Your blog a little longer ... who knows 
The background is too busy; I think that is the only real problem. Try a simple gradient or a subdued pattern, and see how that looks. As for if this should be posted in this forum, I think it should. You're not advertising or even asking for ratings on your website, you just want to share and get advice on a single image. This is especially a good place for that if you haven't finished building your website yet.
