The mods that im selling for FRIH$ cannot be used on live without more/different software.
Thus, I am not promoting cheating in ranked areas, just in LAN parties or other places where "modding" is acceptable.
Also, the packet of software and tutorial clearly state in them that they are not to be used on Xbox Live.
I'm sorry, I really don't have much idea about Gaming or making your own patches for them... could you both please elaborate on your posts?
Herbz, tell me what exactly SOFTMODS are and what exactly you're offering, and FireFoxDB, tell me why exactly this is illegal...

Softmods are modifications that can be made to you Xbox without any "hard" parts, namely new chips, hard drives, etc.
These softmods can allow you to do numerous things, such as play burned media (I am not promoting this though). You can also download new software to run on your xbox which can allow you to browse the internet through your xbox (like WebTV, though this wont be included).
What I will be including in the set is:
A tutorial on how to softmod your xbox
Linux Installer for the mechassault, splinter cell, or 007 game(s).
.ppf files to enhance your Halo 2 experience
ppf-o-matic (to apply ppfs to you Halo 2 maps)
A map resigner (for Halo 2)
and links to download a free trial of FLash FXP (which you will need to FTP to your xbox)
You will need, however:
The splinter cell (1st one, non-platinum), Mechassault, or 007: Rougue Agent game.
a broadband internet connection.
Action Replay (availible at most Game Stores for $30)
and a router.
All files included are either free to download, or made by me, so nothing in the set is illegal.

. If the moderators or ops deem what I am trying to "sell" illegal or not suitable for this forum, I would be happy to go along with their decision.
However, to my knowledge none of the programs and/or ppf files that I use could be deemed illegal.
Mods arent Illegal! Their just like Gamesharks, Action Replay, Cheat Codes, Ect. I would only consider it illegal if the people who buy the softmods abuse them and find ways to play with them online.
Thank you lockwolf... to my knowledge the mods arent illegal, its just if you play with them in ranked settings that they become a problem.
As for the the mods that I am selling, I havent gotten any buyers yet, so it looks like this topic will be closed soon anyway.
I'll leave this open... PM me if you decide not to sell them and then I'll close it... however, if you do manage to sell any SOFTMODS, you will have to include a file as to how to use them legally, and doing what with them is illegal (Without telling them how to do the illegal stuff).
