installation of Joomla 1.15 on place of joomla 1.0.13

ciboss
I'm trying to install the latest version of Joomla (1.5) instead of the installation of 1.0.13 as proposed by your Fantastico.
From Joomla 1.5 support I learned that I have to keep the old installation (Joomla 1.0.13) on place and to install Joomla 1.5 in a separte directory and a separate database. Can somebody tell me if I have to do that in the home/public-html directory or in the www-directory.

I must admit that I don't understand very well the directory-structure of the frihost server.

And once these new files are downloaded, how can I start the new installation?
path ? name.frihost.net/new directory/install.php ??
thanks for your support
Bockman
Create the directory under home/public-html

and then use the name.frihost.net/new directory/install.php

You had it all right Wink

Thanks
I tried to start the installation but I received the error message :

Restricted access

what to do now?

Check that you had enabled the relevant permissions for the newly created directory. You can do so through your ftp, or through cPanel (for server 1) / DirectAdmin (for server 2)

thanks for your reply but in the meantime I decided to clear my old website and to start with joomla 1.15 all over again.
