Hi
My Google Page rank is 2.
What is your page rank? if higher than 2.
I would love to look at your page if higher than 2.
Cheers Possum
What site do you use to check your Page rank? Last time I tried to see it, the service, which I used was not working.
Hi
I downloaded the Google tool
The Google tool bar has a button that shows a sites page rank.
See

With the Google Toobar visible I right click my Mozilla toobar and drag the PageRank button onto my main toolbar. I then hide the google toolbar.
Cheers Possum..
Mine is higher than 2
My Google Pagerank history was: n/a - 0 - 1 - 0 - 3. It was closed for a couple of weeks and it might loose some of the dynamic links.... I hope I'll get it back
http://generalitati.net (the english content is poor, but you can follow the structure)
Have a nice day an a high pagerank!
[edit] at this moment there are problems with frihost's #2 server and you might experience problems while visiting the site
Ok, I've found another site that for checking it.
Currently my blog is hosted at a major website (pagerank 8 ), but when I register my own domain and start my new project here, I think I'll have a to work hard to get at least PG2
.
I have PR4 site. I,m planning to reach PR5 untill next pagerank update.
I'm also glad that not only main page is PR4 , but some of my tutorials too. Subpages like contact or templates are PR3 and resto of the tutorials too
.
My site is bwebi.com (currently down because frihost server #2 is down)
I'm 2nd on Google. In first is another company, with even worse content then ours (which is just shocking)

That's great. Good job.
I've checked a "major" (at least it's within the first Google results) Search Engine Optimization blog from my country, which have articles on PageRank, and it had only PR3.
I have a PR2 now, but I used to have a PR3, and 2 PR4's.
It's hard to achieve it.

It must be sad.
Have you changed the kinds of content that you post there?

No, I stopped working in one of the PR4 because of lack of time and the PR dropped... I sold the other PR4 site, and I also sold the PR3. I made some money with them (~$100)
^I see... So the PageRank considers how often the page is updated?

Nope - it depends on backlinks, value of those links... and maybe iy check if the link number grows
But ... noone know it for sure ... it's google secret
Aha... It's going to be such a long jouney for me and my web log to make PG happy.
Get this.
I had my site up for awhile before I began to concern myself with pagerank. When I finally started to work on increasing it, my rank was a 4. I was elated.
But within a few months it dropped down to a 3 and stayed there for about a year. I had about 240 backlinks.
Then, this year, it plumetted to a ZERO. My backlinks are about 100 right now. I have no idea what happened. I still rank excellent in my targeted keywords.
I've started to just take Google's pagerank with a grain of salt. I'm tired of stressing over whether or not Google thinks my site is worthy enough. I'm working on content and backlinks and if Google doesn't think it's enough, oh well. Especially after reading several resources that Google is even thinking about canning it. In many experts eyes it's over-rated and not a true indication of a site's value since it can be manipulted so much.
That said, I realize many people and advertisers still put alot of stock in Google Page rank, so it's hard to just ignore it completely.
Agree with you Phil.
We understand that PR is not a really important factor to our site. We can still rank on our targetted keyword with 0 PR and gain a lot of traffics. However some people (and advertisers) still think that PR is an important factor.
Now, for me at least, it will depend on how I monetize the site (yes, I make sites to make money). If I monetize the site with adsense and/or affiliate programs, then traffics will be my concern. If I want to monetize it with direct advertisement trough selling links (text link ads or paid post) then I will have to pay attention to my PR since higher PR means higher payout.

My friend has experienced something similar. His big Page Rank vanished and he doesn't know what happened.
I hope that it's not like you realized.
There are definitely some quirks to the pr algorithm. I have one site where i dont bother with any kind of seo and it keeps going up in pr i think its up to pr 4 with about 80 backlinks... While another site i've gotten 1700 backlinks for is still only pr2.
luckily pr doesn't mean much though unless your selling links.

This means that Google cares about the quality of the backlinks as well.
Some of my sites drop from 3 to zero...
I own several sites including a PR5, a few PR4s, and several PR3, PR2, and PR1s- PR really isn't that important except if you are selling links to people who are looking for SEO boosts. What really matters for a successful site is SERPS, which can be a lot harder to get for hard keywords.
I also bought a PR3 aged domain and it dropped to PR0 just after 2 weeks of purchase! Actually I was quite skeptical about buying this domain since it only got about 10 backlinks, but after some research and i could see it is a vaild PR and the backlinks all come from really High PR quality sites, I decided to buy that....so, i really don't think PR is something we should really predict!! Anyone here could give me some suggestions on how to improve my PR?
