I have an idea in mind about redirecting a text in someone else`s webpage and take it so that I can store the text into my database and then modify the text and get it parse in my own webpage. How to do this? I want it to be done automatically once my webpage visitor clicks on some buttons. Can it be done by just using PHP? If can, how to do it?
And I do remember that there are a couple of posts having php code on how to do this... Try searching the forum..
yea i did this once with an online radio status output.....
very simple usage.. try to use file_get_contents() function in php and put the path file you want to parse..
Actually what I mean is I want to extract the text on a running html for example the pages in this forum... I want PHP to read the current forum html and extract some text that I want to get in store in my database. Later, I can modify the text and get it to be shown on my own webpage. This is what I actually plan for. Could the function file_get_contents() work on this?
Yes, or you can use various other php functions to do that.
However, you can't use any of the file functions on FriHost servers, as Bondings disabled them for security.
You can use cURL, though.
