Rampant Police Corruption

uuuuuu
In the last year I have bookmarked about 600 separate, independent articles that I've read about police corruption and abuse. I've read several articles about this particularly flagrant case, of NY police officers filling up an innocent groom with 45 bullets on his wedding day:

An excerpt:

The death of Bell in a hail of bullets hours before his wedding and the wounding of two of his friends sparked community outrage and raised questions about police use of deadly force. Bell was black, as are the other victims, while the officers involved are Hispanic, black and white.

A judge is hearing the men's trial without a jury. Prosecutors have portrayed the detectives as trigger-happy and poorly supervised. The defense contends the officers were convinced they were in danger.

Here's another article that I just linked to today off of reddit.

A teenage boy was killed by a taser used on him by a police officer.

Here's an excerpt from THIS article:

Police released a statement reading, "[Turner] was highly agitated and refused all verbal commands and began walking toward the officer." At that point, the officer used his Taser on Turner.

Turner went to Carolinas Medical Center-University, but he died a short time later.

Fontenot said her son and the manager have had problems in the past but she does not believe he became violent.

Now, sure this is only one side of the story, but if you want to read the entire article you can find it here:

Oh jesus, Why did the kid ignore police commands?

What else were the police meant to do?

This reminds of the case of Thomas Hickey in Sydney Australia

Hickey was a young indigenous kid riding his bike, he saw a police car and ASSUMED it was chasing him, he ran...

The Police chased him, Hickey crashed his bike and managed to impale himself on a fence and died.

This led to MASSIVE riots through the predominantly aboriginal suburb of Redfern in Sydney with claims of racism against the police

Now my question is this

If he was innocent and had nothing to hide, WHY RUN? The police do what they need to, to keep the streets safe (or as safe as possible i should say)....If you do the right thing, the police wont kill you, and if you believe otherwise youre delusional

EDIT

Oops, forgot to quote my source Smile
