Hi guys,

I am a programmer of C and PHP who would like to learn python. I have done something so far but just oriented to web development and always using frameworks like Django but I was really pleased to code some lines. This is a call for really python programmer because I would really like to start with a tutorial that teaches and enjoys me but out of web development box. I want to interact with objects (I know that I can do that even with websites) but I would like to experiment with real stand alone application and scripts to interact with the Operative System.

I think that the Tutorial in the Python documentation is more than enough for your needs. Just in case you didn't see/can't find the link there, here it is: http://docs.python.org/tut/tut.html

By the way, since you have already mentioned "Operating System", "scripts", and "standalone application", you might want to directly checkout these modules:

You might also want to get your feet wet in GUI programming in Python by using Python bindings for well-known and/or popular toolkits like Qt or GTK using PyQt or PyGTK, respectively.

Also, since you are a C programmer, you might want to extend Python using your own C code. Take a look at this: http://www.python.org/doc/ext/intro.html
