Invisible Wall Found?
Wow, that's really .. wow .. That's a really far-off advancement of our time. We should just hope they put it to appropriate uses.

Ahh yes this is definately one of my favorite science articles on the net. And I infact attempted to recreate this expieriment (as suggested by Bill Beatty)using a metal bowl charged with a high positve voltage and ion emitters connected to negative high voltage mutlipler. SADLY I didn't find an invisible wall but I did manage to create movement on the steel bowl which I contribute to "ion wind" from the negative charged air molecules attracted to the positive bowl in a swift stream of air like an invisible fist. The whole reason for trying this an other expieriements like this was an attempt to find a non conventional means of creating a "hoverboard" levitation system. In theory the bowl should have sandwiched neutral air molecules between the bowl and the negative charges air and created a pocket that maybe would have acted as an invisible barrier or wall. But in reality I think its much more complex than that. With things like charge induction and ion discharge being a HUGE factor.
And lets not worry about uses because there is plenty.

LOL this is just wow but then again about all major useful disconveries was made by pure accident. I do have to agree thos would be great to have a invisable wall around you or even your property sometimes. If the goverment could produce it so it was use per individual think of how many soldiers lives could be saved. And the president could be seen in public more offten without worry about beening shot and so on. IF it could be reproduced and controled It could be a great tool for sure.

wow thats amazing, we could walk in mid air lol but then there will also be many other uses for it sounds great, away to stop intruders cant you use it for like stores, like instead of windows use that since we cant go through it or brake it mor safty.
Does not make any sense. As you said it is invisible, how can it be found.. Unless by other means lol.. Well.. I read the article. Its pretty amazing.

They've known about this kind of effect for years. High-powered electricity cables repel birds when they try to land.
This is really cool. The only thing that's scary about it is that if the wrong people got their hands on this technology then this could present a huge problem. I dunno, maybe people could have watches that now have low-sensitivity electrometers in their watches and cars :B

Well at the 3M plant where this effect occured it happed just a random. But to sum up what bill beaty said here goes. That plant had a machine that unspoiled giant rolls of film the film traveled around as in this diagram
where the man stands in the middle is where the wall effect occured. Beatty believes that when the film was unwound from the spool it created a static electricity being the spool retained a charge and the film also had a charge but an opposite one. (think about a fruit roll up and the plastic wrapper sticking on things) But it seems possible that that some of this charge was leaked as ionized air. He also believes that maybe the motion of the film in this tent configuration might have something to do with it. The plant workers seen this "event" as a problem rather than a new invention and chose to fix it rather than to study it. A terrible mistake IMHO. I found another article once that stated that walking into this pressure zone felt like hundreds of sparklers touching your body and a high voltage meter read like over a 100KV in the air alone. They say this effect occured only in the mornings when it was cool and humidity low so ionization was prolly a major factor in this. If I find more to add I will.

people people. Yes, U could use it for protection but we could also use it for...pranks! Like in the far off year of 3004, these walls will be avaible for everybody in cans for a measly price of 10000 dollars. Knock the door and activate the wall and the person walks into it. HAHA, real fun for the whole family.

The ionization in the air probably made attraction on the clothes of the people and made it so that they couldnt walk through. its basically the same as attaching a giant magnet to yourself.....

It could be real... All it takes is a basic knowledge of science to disover that there are things and weapons that our government has that they dont want to show to the public.
