A forgotten civilisation? -- please help with this survey!

Hello everyone ^^
I'm doing a small project about the Byzantine empire, and I thought this would be a perfect place to have a little survey.

I'd like to know how much there is thaught about the Byzantine Empire (as here in Holland there's hardly anything about in the standard education), I hope you'll be so kind to tell a bit about how much you actually know. A simple 'yes', 'no', or 'very little' will suffice in most cases! Keep in mind that there's no 'right' or 'wrong' answers, just tell what YOU think!

1) Do you know what the Byzantine Empire?
If so, where did you learn about it?
If not, did you know the East-roman empire lived on when the western part fell in the 4th century?
2) Do the history lessons in your country say a lot about the Eastern Roman empire?
3) Do you think there's a lot information about the Byzantine Empire in your history books? (high school or university?)
4) Lastly, just for the sake of completeness: What's your country, age, and education (something like high/avg/low suffices)

Countries tend to promote understanding of their cultural roots in history. School and library books are quite advanced, even for some places it may sounds like an oxymoron.
Have the unrelated university education, quite a time ago.
