Anyone here fly rc planes? I've been doing it for a while, but I'm not as heavily involved as a lot of other people. Have seven planes: three piston glow powered and four gliders.
RC Airplanes
I have a garage full of built planes, partially built, unstarted kits and smashed planes.
When I smash one I tend to keep the tail section,
add a new bulkhead to it and hang it like it's flown into the wall.
I enjoy quarter scale because I can see it better in the air.

I used to, but I've been out of the scene so long that I really have no idea what's going on these days
Are there any good out-of-the-box RC planes? I have always been interested in them, but some of them are really expensive. I'd be happy with a cheap one that had a range of more than 4 feet, to see if it is a hobby I'd like to pursue.
eday, the best thing to do is to go visit a few clubs in your area.
http://www.maac.ca/clubs/clubs.php?zn=7
People are finishing their winter projects this time of year and will bring them to meetings.
Find a club near you that you get along with the guys.
Many clubs will have trainer airplanes that they will let you fly with an instructor.
Do not try to learn how to fly on your own!
