It seems that Arsenal's striker Eduardo da Silva has been brutally injured because of a terrible challenge by Birmingham's Taylor.
"His foot was hanging off his leg."
That's what the rumours say.
He seems to have a compound fracture in his dislocated foot. It's serious bone and ligament damage. This could mean that at 24, he could end his career!
I saw the tackle, and the more grusome looking slow-mo replays , I hope for the lads sake it turns out not as bad as it looked.
The replay of the tackle was not shown as it is quite horrible and terrific...
i saw the tackle and it shocked me...
is very sad that if Arsenal lose such a great player...
He is young and potential but this accident might have ended his career
In Croatia was poll and 40% people mind that Martin Taylor should be disqualification for life. I mind it's brutal tackle, but no to disqualification for life. I mind that he should be disqualification to 2 years and pay big penalty.
Every football pundit in the uk say that the tackle wasnt even a red card. The arsenal manager retracted his statement and apologised to the club for his comments. It was a climsy challenge that happens week in week out. So why are people saying things about martin taylor.
he is not an agressive player and went for the ball. He never ran and charged at the player. he went in with one foot while standing.
We, Arsenal fans, shocked about the bad news of the young player. I really felt heart break as I was watching the match live on the TV and seeing Eduardo's leg separated (as it seemed). However, I feel happy as of now; it was not career end for Eduardo. Eduardo will run in a period of Six Months, and he'll come back to Emirates Stadium after 9 months. Arsenal FC confirmed that on their website.
Arsenal must gain success in both Champions league and Premiership in order to keep Eduardo feel better. And I hope him speedy recovery.
For the team, I think Robin van Persie is back to handle with the San Serie situation.

yeah...no more holidays for him
but it is quite sad to hear that, hopefully Arsenal can win the EPL title for his injury...
wish him all the best
The biggest relief for me is that his career is not ended.
He was really a hot prospect for the future of Arsenal along with Adebayor.
yes, and maybe people will stop slagging off birmingham citys martin taylor. Because the lad didnt do anything wrong.
Its good news that arsenal will get their man back fit in 9 months. But how long will martin taylor be ruined for. After papers and everything ripped his life apart and that. when his tackle wernt even bad.
Yeah. I heard he got a couple of death threats from Croatians. I don't know if he actually did.
Birmingham City FC decided not to appeal against the red card for martin taylor in respect for the arsenal player. Which i think is fair.
i just hope a line can be drawn under this whole thing now and get back to football.
I think Taylor should be banned for life, you can't tackle that hard (and if I remember correctly, it was at the beginning of the match).
I hope Eduardo can play football again.

There was no malice at all in the challenge. And in fact, Eduardo is going to make a return in 6-9 months.
The challenge wasn't that horrible either ... it was just bad luck and a bad angle ... haven't you read the previous posts in this topic?

are you having a laugh. Yes it was at the start of the match, it was a clumsy challenge and their was no intention to break his leg. Was 100% accident.
Either you are anti brummie or a bitter arsenal fan.

I'm afraid when he does come back, he won't be the same
For the first time Eduardo da Silva told the press that Martin Taylor never visited him and it's shameful for Sunday Mirror. Was Mirror laying?
Quote:
"The story about Taylor visiting me was an invention — as was my 'interview' in the English press," the striker was quoted as saying on Croatian television by the Mirror.

By the way, many other Premiership footballers are afraid of a harsh injury.
C. Ronaldo is afraid of another horrific injury as he told to Man United TV
Quote:
"It's very frustrating, the referee was unbelievable. He (the refree) didn't want to give the penalty, he didn't want to give yellow cards. I'm very disappointed. Refs don't protect skilful players. I think about the Arsenal player (Eduardo) and I'm scared sometimes to do skills because some players do unbelievable fouls and the ref protects the defender, not the skilled player. It's very disappointing and I'm thinking a lot about changing my game. When referees don't give penalties, yellow cards or reds, it's difficult to play."
Fifa is deciding now what to do with refrees and tackling players...
Martin Taylor was not melicious man. Sorry for the death threats. Who will watch football since it's full of meliciousness and death threats
Eduardo will be back in several months. I believe he will play great too! I hope that Croatian national team can make good result at European Cup without Eduardo.
The birmingham player is being singled out far too much. He didn't intend to break his leg and if eduardo didn't know what the english league was like he should've stayed in a namby pamby east european league if he wants the soft touch
