Carling Cup Final

This is a huge shock!

TOTTENHAM HAVE WON THE CARLING CUP!

It just feels worse for Arsenal fans ... to think that we could have won!

As a Chelsea fan, I have to say, we deserved to lose that game. We didn't look nearly hungry enough for it. And Grant didnt seem to take it seriously enough to use a tried and true formation, instead opting to experiment playing Anelka and Drogba together for the first time, and leaving out players like Joe Cole from the starting lineup.

Congratulations to Tottenham, you were the better team on the day. As to "Arsenal could have won it" if I recall correctly Spurs absolutely thrashed you as well.

I know. But if Wenger took it seriously, we could have gone through and probably could have beaten Chelsea in the finals! Crying or Very sad

im glad spurs won the carling cup final. makes a change, footy gets boring when the same teams win year in year out.

i hope a smaller club win the FA cup too.

yeah, hopefully some other teams can provide the shock for us too Smile
it is a good situation that the competitions are not only dominated by Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester Utd and Chelsea...
Other teams stand a chance too... Very Happy

I know! But actually, that's a good thing. It ends the dominance of the BIG FOUR.

I know what you mean but the big teams only take an interest in the FA Cup when they think they can win it - the fact they have won it so often shows how far ahead they are.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in 5-10 years time when the big four now are still on top which they will be unless they change the structure of payouts from the Champ League. Will people still be interested in battling it out for 11th and 12th when there's no glimmer of ever getting anywhere?

I'm a Spurs fan and just don't see them getting above 5th (at absolute best) in a long time. That doesn't mean I'll stop supporting them but it does make the Premiership less interesting = less people interested=less money.

What happens then?

I don't think that the Premiership will be dominated by the Big 4 in a couple of seasons. I think that under Ramos probably Spurs will get there. It will be interesting to see which one of the big 4 concede first. I hope it isn't Arsenal Confused
