I thought I had a great margarita recipe, but I just got back from Mexico and I've realized that my own recipe needs a lot of work. Do any of you have any recipes you're proud of? I'm looking for something mellow and salty.

Tequila + lime + sweet and sour + blender = margarita. Simple as that!
Okay, not really, but you get the drift. Blend well, add salted rim & you have a gorgeous cocktail!
Try Google. I know making your own sweet and sour is fairly straight-forward if you're willing to put the effort in.

andn theres always a bit of experimentation to go with if your feelin lucky. who knows, u might end up with a good mix...it wouldn't be classic "margarita" anymore, but still...
My hometown is a border city with a Mexican city and oh God, I used to love to drive over and order a Margarita at some of the places there. Absolutely delicious.
