Just look around you this IS the end times prophecised in the bible. In the U.S. THe crime rate is terrible, Almost every country is dealing with a war (whether its on the homefront or in a foreign country), there is a lot of terrorism (by organizations or just kids going to school and shooting people), we kill babies (abortion), Bush has removed habius corpus and made martial law real, the amero will be out in the course of 5 years and the borders from Mexico, The U.S., and Canada will be removed to make a union and soon to be a one world govt when all the unions all over the world connect. People sing to killing music such as icp and other sick crap like that + very violent rap. Drug trafficing is a major exports for many country's and theres probably more i havent even thought about.
What do YOU think?
Far more gruesome descriptions could be made about events of times hundreds of years ago; you just hear about it now through media.

Ok.... So tell me what would make all of these depict the end of the world now, when these have happened all throughout history.
Yes the crime rate is terrible. Crime is a problem. Yet I'd argue that it's actually better than it was in previous years, such as the dark ages. Back then life was short, hard, and females pretty much had a guarantee of being raped. Most people don't worry about those things now.
War has always existed. It's one of the sad facts of our history. War even happened in the bible.
Terrorism isn't new.
So Bush made a decision that you don't agree with? People haven't been 100% happy with the government ever in history.
So according to you, there will be open borders between the United States, Mexico, and Canada that will lead to a one government world? That seems a little far-fetched at this current state. There are still hundreds of governments in the world right now, and I don't see them all merging together. Besides, there's probably more governments now than there was in the past. I'd say the Roman Empire was closer to a one-government world than we are now.
Yes, killing and other things like that are talked about in our entertainment. But that hasn't really changed. People have always been interested in violence and sex. Nothing has changed over the years. Have you ever wondered why people still read Shakespeare today (although I don't because I find it boring)? It's because he talked about sex and violence. All that's really changed is that that's now entered into music.
If drug trafficking is a sign of the end of the world, then how come the end of the world didn't happen years ago? Drugs have been around for years. The only difference is that most of the world views them as bad, when many drugs have not been viewed as bad in the past.
I think you should put down the Bible and pick up a history book.
I think you should put down the history book and pick up the Bible!
Do you think it is possible to make sense of the bible without a historical perspective?
How, for example, should one interpret passages from the bible which appear to condone, or even demand, murder..
Leviticus 20;10 If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death.
Leviticus 21;9 A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death.
and so on (I could cite many many examples but I hope this illustrates the point).

No thank you
I prefer truths.
Afaceinthematrix good points. I'm not even going to argue it except saying this: Our technology has grown enough to make what was prohecised come to pass more then ever before.. Unless you believe robots will take over the earth because surely we can only learn so much in a lifespan. Lol.
@biker man wtffff? DOGG FOR ONE the CATHOLIC bible is a piece of crap, im sorry to say... Since they translate and manipulate totally in a criminal way to promote their beliefs. Now I myself am a Christadelpian and we have gotten everything retranslated from the Hebrew version to english and it does not even come CLOSE to what the catholic bible says. The catholic "religion" is just that, a "religion" not a truth. They are just fighting for power and money-I've been to a catholic church before and they've literally expected me to pay the church money just because I was there. + Do you think its very godly and right for a TRUE man of god to flip someone off in a parking or use profanity in the church parking lot because they weren't let into the line to get out? I've seen it dozens of times. I don't think catholicism is even credible since the believe you eat the body of Christ when you eat a certain made bread made by the CATHOLIC church.... bs man. bs!

What makes you think I am defending Catholicism? Did I even mention Catholicism?
The quotes I cited appear in your bible as well - I believe Christadelphians use the New King James version don't they? The quotes I cited appear exactly the same in that version of the Bible. Have you actually read the NKJ?

I agree with you Bikerman, I was just kidding about!
Many sections of the Bible can only be understood in relation to its historical perspective. I think this is the reason so many people misinterpret sections of the Bible.
One thing I must say is that certain aspects of the Bible are very simple and understandable, even by a child. Whereas some other passages can only be understood with histrorical perspective and contextual study of numerous Bible books which relate to each other.

Hey liljp617! Just out of interest, have you ever read the Bible?
and I don't mean books about the Bible or a few little verses!

Nearly word for word when I was 14. Last time I read it was probably age 15. Fail to see what that has to do with it. Yeah, it has some decent historical backing as somewhat of a primary source (if you stretch it), but it's pretty much a work of fiction....an amazing one at that. And it definitely can't be taken literally in almost any sense.
Sorry but this is one of the stupidest reflections of our time I have ever heard. In fact, we life in a very peaceful period, compared to all other centuries so far. More and more people gain access to a good life, we fight and eradicate diseases and so on.

The end isn't coming at all. The earth has known multiple times in which there was a lot of war, thing of WWI and WWII for example. Things might be getting nastier but the world isn't going to end.
Couldn't Armageddon have something to do with, say...WWIII?
The chances of another world war seem pretty remote to me (touch wood). The only possibility I can see would be an escalating conflict between the Chinese and the US, and I seriously doubt that is likely in the near future (both sides have far too much to lose).

You never know, maybe the chinese leader will go mad on day. And launch everything. (Or someone places his cup-a-soup by mistake on the lauch button
).
But yes WOIII won't be coming soon.
But about the armageddon stuff.
I don't think the end is coming. Since I'm not religious and no scientist spotted a huge Comet Astroid or whatever. The end of the world as in the bible is (in my humnle opinion) is nonsense.
Better read a history book.

Thanks for your contribution to the discussion.
I don't think that you really tought this trough. If you compare the age we live in with the medievil times, then you can be really glad you live today. Humanity as a whole moves forward. There is still war, and there is still hunger and much pain in the world. But i think that we are moving forward, with no end in sight.
The end? No. That won't happen just yet. After all, there are only seven seconds to midnight. World leaders and the corporate masters have the world under a fair grip. Addicts and other assorted dangerous persons will eventually weed themselves out via natural selection. A little reform and we can get some crime rates down, too; we just need to implement some of China's policies and Americans won't be attempting too many crimes again.
The end has been trumpeted so many times and the same sets of generic circumstances provided by the bible have been (arguably) repeated throughout history so many times it's not even worth looking at the abrahmic doomsday situation. The only two situations I believe at this point as acceptable ends would be dysgenics/idiocracy or nuclear warfare, and I don't think either will be very likely because plutocracy would balance idiocracy, and nuclear warfare is a generally remote possibility since no nation has the phallus to truly use them, not even North Korea.
What's new? Things have been far, far worse than they are now. Just because the media ensures we are less ignorant about all the problems in the world, doesn't make those problems worse. It just makes them seem worse.
Well, they also make people care and that makes the problems possible to solve. So media isn't all that bad. Just wanted that pointed out.
