upload File using ajax php or IFrame

Hello guyz, need help here.

i'm about to create a upload image but i want to make it in ajax form nor a iframe, although there a lot of open scripts out there but i would like to create it by myself does anybody know what is the best way to do it. Or give any idea how to work with it?

I find the second link you give very useful... But is there other scripts that totally created via ajax? coz i tried to create a download. But i have some idea but i didn't tried it yet. But hopefully your inputs are greatly appreciates.
