I think this is over anyway by about half an hour anyway.

So i wont bid anymore.

It is over in 30 minutes as I said by 8 PM EDT, but I will close it now.

So who won?
Ratmaster
MYP415, because I did not want to keep this above the time it should close and have people disappointed because they didn't win. You said that you did not want to bid anymore, so I didn't think there would be anymore bids. I said it was going to end at 8 PM EST, to match my other auction, but I closed it early (by 30 mins.) because I did not want it to go over the time limit, because usually my domain auctions do not get spontaneous bidding as this one did and you said you didn't want to bid anymore.

I'm just a little confused... Originally, there was a post at 9:03am my time which said

Thanks, only one hour left!

I could've sworn you said that it ended at 6PM EST (the other thread was always 8pm though), hard to prove since you have removed it now, but I usually try to avoid anything where I have to work out time differences anyway - with daylight savings and things it's too easy to make a mistake and miss out. So when I saw this post whcih was posted at 9:03 my time, which said only one hour left, I assumed this auction finished at 10:03am my time - so all bids after that time, such as myp415's, I thought, were invalid - and so stopped bidding.

It seems that you edited the above quoted post at 10:30am:

What makes no sense to me is that you closed it early, despite the fact that you know from my previous posts that I only stopped bidding becuase I thought the auction was over.

It seems to me that you saw the auction had ended, saw the bidding war afterwards, and wanted the extra frih$ so pretended like it was always supposed to go longer - and edited any relevant posts. Then you closed it early, maybe hoping that I would bid more on your other thread.

Very unhappy at this!

The reason I had changed it is because I kept getting the timezones EDT and EST mixed up, and I had been asked by someone via email to keep it open (the person had not bidded for some reason) and at the time, this auction said it would end at six, then I changed it to 8, but for some reason, my post was not edited. I then said there was an hour left, because the top post had said it ended at 8 PM, so then I had changed it. If you had looked, I had edited the clock several times, because I was getting confused at the two times because before I post domain auctions, I save them in my Notepad++, which I had referenced to just incase I made any changes in time. If I had kept the time up there, the auction would have ended 2 days ago as I had gotten confused with the MM/DD with DD/MM format (which is now why I use the whole date spelled out). And besides, when you said you thought it ended, it would have been 7 PM EST.

I had changed the date several times and I got confused, but I had the date and time set to 8 since this morning, and I had said 1 hour before because I had referenced to my file instead of the thread again.

I have to check the file one more time, and I will decide to give it to you/MYP415 or to reauction it if I feel that I did not give proper recognition.

-----------------------
Okay, I have checked over my file and I will give you the domain at your bid of 30 frih$ on the count that I should have posted that I got the time wrong. Please give my your NamePros.com username and the 30 frih$ (the bid before 6 PM on my time). Sorry for any inconveniences, the time error was my fault and I should have publicly recognized the change.

I think this was a really bad auction - I definietly think you need to re-assess how you run these.

The fact that you said my post was at 7pm EST is exactly why I don't try to calculate time zones.

Here's a suggestion - instead of ending an auction at a specific time in a specific time zone, do something like "this auction ends 48 hours after this post" or something similar depending on how long you want the auction to run for.

And in my opinion if you really changed the times because you " had been asked by someone via email to keep it open (the person had not bidded for some reason) " wouldn't you have kept it open right up until the end? Perhaps that person was waiting till the last minute to bid? Closing it 'half an hour early' could be the reason that person never bidded.

And in regards to "I kept getting the timezones EDT and EST mixed up", my advice is whatever rules the auction starts on are what should stay! And if you get confused with time zones, just stick to your own timezone, rather than trying to work time differences out!

I think you have made the right decision - I hope myp415 is ok with that decision. Just maybe put a bit more thought into your auctions next time.

Frih$ and namepros user name sent.
Ratmaster
Domain transfered, check your NamePros PMs, because you may or may not have received a PM. Either way, check your domains.

Sorry for any inconveniences.

Yea, its ok I think the decision was right too. But you should try to make this more organized in the future.
