Can't create or alter name of MySQL databases

welshsteve
Hi everyone. Frihost has been invaluable to me in not only hosting a website I manage, but also in using for testing purposes. One thing I've not been able to do though is to live test MySQL based websites, because whenever I log into phpMyAdmin, I do not have privileges to create new databases, and get access denied messages when I try and rename the ones already there.

Is there a reason for this as I though we could have numerous MySQL databases (within reason).

Are you on VPS 1? When you make a user for a database, you need to give the user all permissions.

I think my account is on server 2

Is your subdomain .frih.net or .frihost.net?
welshsteve
It's frih.net

Hmm...on server 2 I'm pretty sure, if using DirectAdmin, the user automatically gets the permissions...

Try going into the user's settings and see if there's any option there..

You need to create databases in Direct Admin, not phpMyAdmin.
You should be able to rename databases using the form in phpMyAdmin under the Operations tab for that database.
