[A difficult choice] phpBB (2&3) or others?

Yeah wll i have a big problem...I dont know what to choose betweem these 2 thing (or more) phpBB2 or phpBB3 I want to create a forum not to big but not to small...I don't know what to choose. Please say me what would you chose at my place...If you have somthing better than phpBB suggest it to me!

-More function
-Not so fast because a lot of fonction....A bit laggy

Whith what was this forum made? I like a lot the point function and the desing?? phpBB what version?

Frihost is using PHPBB 2. Personally, I like PHPBB 2 better than 3 because of the features and looks. I hate the new looks, and there aren't many themes yet.

In my opinion, I would go with version 2.

This forum uses phpBB2, except the point/$ system didnt come with it. It was an add-on.

That's not all Bondings changed. Also the report feature, the blogs, the account page with all the extras for the account creators, the directory, the staffcp (staff only Smile

), the AWIT system and probably more are custom made by Bondings.

I've used Phpbb3, I think it's good because of all the features but I don't like the looks of it.

I'm a little late, but better later, than never:
I used phpBB2 with mods, and could do nothing with spammers. Had to erase the whole forum.

Made a phpBB3 forum on another host, and it is much more difficult to administer: many places to set permissions for the same groups, it makes no sense to me. The only reasonable explanation I could find, was like - it comes with territory - software couldn't be made another way.

But no spam so far.

Likely will go with phpBB3 on this host too.

I <3 phpBB3, it is cool I think. Lay-outs etc. but... phpBB2 have more mods and hacks than phpBB2 Smile
