Heaven or Hell

gottastory
What is your definition of heaven or hell, or do you believe in the traditional sense of the words?
gottastory
Personally I do not believe in the streets paved in gold, or the rules that apply that would get you into heaven or hell. Furthermore, I have a problem with the concepts/ loopholes that would gain entry to either one.

I feel that heaven is what we make it here on earth, and it is a lifestyle and set of choices that craft it. Therefore, the negative aspect and balance to this thought is hell. I don't feel that the "devil" is the evil puppeteer that is responsible for all the bad in the world. As well I don't see "God" as sole entity responsible for all the good in the world.

I believe Heaven and Hell to be what most people to believe. The 'good' go to Heaven, the 'bad' go to hell.

Heaven is paradise, what is in it is something we simply cannot imagine, and there's a similar idea to hell. It isn't, in my opinion, just this lake of fire that you are thrown into. It is, like Heaven, something that we humans simply can't imagine.

I've found that it helps me be a better person if I think, "I was born as someone who is going to Heaven, and now I need to keep it up", and it lightens my spirit.

heaven -> hell
Hell - >heaven

I believe heaven is a better place than hell, but not sure if iw ill be going there. what if the whole thing matters, and only one religion is true, then a lot of us are going to hell arent we Very Happy

On Earth it's up to people to shape their environment. We have the freedom to choose heaven or hell. Here we seem to choose hell quite freely. So if there is an afterlife then I'd imagine that it would work out little different regardless of the intentions of any deity.

Heaven is where believers of god go and people who have accepted christ into their hearts and asked forgiveness for their sins. Hell is where everybody who hasnt done that go is what it really comes down to. You can be a good person and everything but I'm pretty sure you still go their if you havent repented etc.

Have you ever watched the movie Bedazzled (2000 version)? That is pretty much what that movie is about. That ends up being the theme, or little life lesson, at the end of the movie.

I am a Satanist and I have my own idea on heaven and hell. First off we never know that the life that we're living now is our CURRENT one. Who's not to say that we are living in heaven/hell right now at the moment? Personally, no I do not believe in heaven or hell and I believe that it is better to worry about the current life that we are living and make a difference for the future generations to come. I have no say in whether or not heaven or hell really exists, I don't think that anyone does. But I'm more concerned with my current life (if i got to hell, oh well, I love living the current life that I live). I also had a crazy idea that heaven and hell could possible be different planets and that when we die we get transported to a different planet as a different species ( I was sleeping and dreaming about that ). That's my main beliefs Rolling Eyes

anyone heard the song : Heaven is just a sin away yeahoyeah....

So what is a sin when heaven is that sin?

Heaven or hell is HERE/NOW!

Do you want heaven or hell in the future here? You can affect that now!

What drove you to become a Satanist?
fpwebs
I became a Satanist when I realized that the Holy Bible was a fictional murder, rape, incest story.

Wow, anyway, care to explain more? What make u realize/think that? Then what is satanist to you?

I've my own belief about the afterlife, heaven and hell.. I believe when we died, we just go to the other world.. Heaven and hell is just 2 continents in the other world. Whether is Eternity or not. I dont know.. All i know is, They are far beyond human imagination. More complex...

Hm, of course the (un)holy bible is fiction filled with incest rape murder aso... But why just don't laugh at it instead of going to be a satanist. It couln'd really offend you that much! or could it???

So heaven or hell is now - I can go for that!
HalfBloodPrince
...

May God forgive you all one day...

Confused
spinout
hehe, so god forgive himself easily?

Hm, if God didn't forgive himself then he packed the souls in the hell domains, when is it gonna get full? The universe needs constant movement to function - a stoppie like hell would then just collapse! Cool

so. assuming that all this is true, and the biggest sin you can share about is not believing in god, and that is a free ticket to hell. in which eveil and wrong doers reside.

1. does this make me an evil and a worng doer.
2. am i on the same scale as the other people in hell
3. it is in my nature to not believe in god. which result sin the punishment of the evil person. so does that mean according to religion that i am an inherently evil person?

Who said there is a heaven or hell ? I don't know. This is a topic about something your belief. I belief in a re-life. Heaven or hell who tell me ... Rolling Eyes

The church said that there is heaven and hell during the 13th century since they wanted to sell those damn letters and get rich. They are the ones who said it.

EDIT: Since I believe in science, I'd say that there's no heaven or hell. Just death (which makes you dead... wohoo, not much more about it).

1.IF there is a God almighty, then there is no need to believe in it. Almighty don't need anything.
2. If there wheren't bad people - good people is not either... Any bad people actually blesses the 'good' ones.
3. see no 1 above

Rubbish. Jesus talked about hell. It wasn't invented in the 13th century.

Hell is where God is not. Whether this becomes a lack of existing at all, or simply a lack of God, I am not sure.

You mean the universe?

All can be wrong - even jesus!

My probability ideas tell me that hell was a creation for money/power rather than being unholy n speaking about punishment!

its a non issue, you will prob just stay in pergatory for a while

Purgatory? Does any Christian sect still believe in Purgatory? As far as I know the Catholic Church is the only one with a notion of purgatory and they have been slowly backing away from it for a while. It's treated like an elderly relative who keeps farting - polite embarrassment. The official doctrinal position is
Quote:
Purgatory is the state of those who die in God’s friendship, assured of their eternal salvation, but who still have need of purification to enter into the happiness of heaven.

God's friendship is, of course, not really defined. The word 'friend' is normally assumed to be a two-way thing, so, for an atheist, it is difficult to see how one could be friends with a God.
