Hi guys,
I have been thinking too much about a good backup system for my 18 servers we have all over Europe and I think I have found the solution for them. The thing is using a mix of Bacula+Jugledisk and Amazon. Basically that work as follow:
1.- You installed Jungledisk in your system through which you create an virtual partition on your system. http://www.jungledisk.com/
2.- Depend on what you wanna do you could have your Bacula server installed on one server with that virtual partition created by Jungledisk and then to have installed the Bacula client all over your rest of servers. Those clients will connect with Bacula Server and they will send the information to be backed up and then this will save that information into the virtual partition. http://www.bacula.org/
3.- That virtual partition will save that information directly into the Amazon servers. http://www.amazon.co.uk/.
Another alternative could be it to have installed Bacula clients and servers and a virtual partition of jungledisk on every server but that will cost more in terms of server overhead.
Well, that is only an idea but I hope that helps you a lot. I am starting to research about it so more posts are welcomed.
Thanks.
