jtayl153
My website is

www.thejtzone.frihost.net

If youve seen it, its not bad (for a beginner) and not particualy great either!

I was wondering if someone could help me.

I ve also been told that depending on your browser and maybe your Screen Resolution the page messes up

I NEED HELP PLEASE

Im new to webdesigning, and I am using KompoZer to design. Is there a FREE EASY-TO- USE, web designing tool!

The first thing I would suggest is that you learn how to code HTML and CSS and don't rely on your editor to code for you. This will give you a lot more control over how your site looks. There are a ton of tutorials on the web for learning HTML one of the sources that I used is http://www.w3schools.com
As for learning CSS try Eric Myers web site at http://www.myerweb.com

These should get you started and good luck with your designs.

When you are designing check your design in several different browsers and at several different screen resolutions. This will make your designs look more consistent for your visitors.

Yeah you should also try it on different browsers at least Firefox and IE (though maybe not if you hate it like me Rolling Eyes )

The text goes all over the place for me and covers the buttons area.

I think you need to learn HTML at least (that's what I did I never learnt CSS) and/or get a better website maker.
endless
i kinda fixed it, but i took away the stupid green bg behind the text Razz

Code:

Hi! I'm glad you are going to learn web design and I wish you well on your journey. I have a couple of helpful links for you:

1. A List Apart is a terrific website that has articles from writing for the web to web design, to coding and best practices. It has articles for those that are newer to web design and those who are pros.

2. Browser Shots allows you to preview your web pages in different browsers and different platforms. Its also free! This is incredibly helpful to know what your users are seeing without you needing to have multiple computers or a spendy subscription to a site that does the same thing.

Books:
I really like Don't Make Me Think because it is easy to read and contains lots of helpful advice.

Good luck in your web design!
