How do I set a password for public viewing?

hey folks!
I basically am using my frihost space for files. I want these files to be viewable/downloadable to the public, but only after entering a password. In other words, when someone types in my website address, I want them to have to enter a password that I created in order to view/download my files.
How is this done?

Ah, this is a simple one.

In the Files section of your DirectAdmin, browse to the parent directory of the directory you want to password protect. You should see a number of links in the 'Action' column for the directory you're interested in. Click 'protect'. Enter the details and you're done!
